cyclone77
We lucked out here last night, only picking up about a quarter inch. So between that and the early morning stuff we picked up 0.78". Definitely don't need any more rain for quite some time around here.

hawkeye_wx
Picked up almost another 2 inches here yesterday. The Iowa City area got up to 4.5". There sure have been a lot of these events around here over the last six weeks.
Geos
Given that my scientific background spans hydrogeology and hydrology, it is interesting/important to watch the stream flows during weather events. Something to take seriously if we end up with more stormy weather soon. The heavy rains are done and the stream flows discharge rates in the Chicago area are average, except slightly above average close to home in Russell on the Des Plaines River. - nothing too serious. http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/index.php?wfo=lot Sitting at 23.52" of rain to date for the year. Hopefully the rain is going to relax for the rest of the summer - the mold spore level has been pronounced this last week... one of my three allergies. Will be ragweed season soon... uggh! Edit: Will say it should be a bountiful/very successful harvest this year in areas that have avoided severe flooding. Crops are looking really strong in this area!
