crossthread
Got this Pine Type tree growing Next Door... I'm posting a couple pics... The Pine Cones it produces are about the size more or less between a Quarter & 50 cent piece.. I'm posting a close up of the "pine Needles"? on one of the Smaller ones that have Sprouted... The *Mother Tree* has grown from about 10 feet to over 50+ feet in 2 years time... Our water Table is quite High... I reside in Southeastern NC and HAVE NOT seen another tree of this type ANYWHERE in the entire South Eastern US.... Can YOU ID this very fast growing tree? YES, the "Polar Vortex" took a Toll, browning some of the branches... If Additional Pics are needed Please ask exactly what you need in terms of Help ID'ing this tree... Here is the smaller one, it's grown 3 feet just this year... Next Pic close up of the "pine needles" Next Pic is the "Mother" tree..
mackerel_sky
99.8% sure this tree is a China Fir! It likes to sucker from the parent plant and has small cones and loves heat , grows fast and big. Sounds like a cool tree and only hardy to zone 7, so that's why the polar vortex took a toll on it !
