THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OMAHA HAS ISSUED A  
 
* TORNADO WARNING FOR...  
SOUTHEASTERN CEDAR COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NEBRASKA...  
 
* UNTIL 1030 PM CDT  
 
* AT 952 PM CDT...A CONFIRMED TORNADO WAS LOCATED 3 MILES NORTH OF  
LAUREL ...OR 18 MILES WEST OF PONCA...AND IS NEARLY STATIONARY.

Low-level helicity was definitely more impressive on yesterday's 19Z sounding, but the CAPE is even more insane tonight. (>6400 J/kg SB CAPE!)  The net result is a fairly comparable EHI. 

 

Deep-layer steering flow actually fairly strong out of the west.  One would expect the present cell to be moving along more to the east given that environment, but it seems to be back-building along the axis of greatest CAPE, with stronger CIN further south capping anything that would disrupt its inflow.
