uofmiami Posted June 10, 2014 Share Posted June 10, 2014 Here is what was on the email sent out 4 days ago from NWS on the pending upgrade: RFC #146: Pending final approval from the NCEP Director, around 12Z, The HWRF model will be upgraded to v8.0.4. This upgrade includes increased vertical resolution, larger next domains, a single Atlantic Ocean domain, an updated WRF core, an updated Princeton Ocean Model, and updated GSI. Also GFDL is going to be upgraded as well: The following will be implemented on June 12, 2014 RFC #154: Pending NCEP Director approval, around 12Z, the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Lab (GFDL) model will be upgraded to v11.0.3. This version includes increased horizontal resolution of the inner nest, upgraded physics, upgraded Princeton Ocean Model with a unified Atlantic basin, and refined vortex initialization.
