metalicwx366
Look at this crap. Might as well take out the chance of rain for the next 10 days. The storms lasted forever then fell apart and reformed to the east leaving us high and dry. We only got wind. We missed out on 1-2 inches of rain. downeastnc
Pretty cool vis loop......the storm cluster that slipped east of here has produced a pronounced outflow on the backside the winds have even gone NE here....producing a pretty good area of clearing that could be a focus for later convection. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/wfo/rah/flash-vis.html
mackerel_sky
97. Dry. No storms within 300 miles! Summer 2012 redux ! I really enjoy watering my plants everyday, not to make them flourish, but just to keep them alive. I know any day now, that amazing El Niño is going to kick in, .... metalicwx366
Today is even worse than yesterday in terms of being shafted. Look at the widespread totals especially in FL. We didn't even get a trace. Tomorrow we better cash in with those chances of rain.
yotaman
No rain today although it did threaten a few times. Currently at 77 with a dew point of 72.
mackerel_sky
The 96 degree high today made the fourteenth day over 90 this year. Last year there were only 13 days above 90, total! Here's to a stupendous summer!! Cheers!

calculus1
I picked up 0.24 inch of rainfall overnight that I never heard. Woke up, saw the ground seemed to be wetter than is usual with just dew, checked the gauge, and was pleasantly surprised with the total.

mackerel_sky
Storms today are moving SE to NW, a little unusual, but slow movers. I hope I can get under a few! 88 currently.
metalicwx366
Partly cloudy and 88. Watching this line of storms fall apart to the south like always. Gust front is well ahead of the convection and no new storms are firing along it.

metalicwx366
as they say over in homerville... " DOH" Watch the storms explode along the outflow boundary as it moves to the north. So crazy how the exact same areas get hammered every day. Hell, Central GA had a huge complex of storms for this morning, 1-4 inches fell, and now more storms are firing there. metalicwx366
7 inches of rain near Savannah with that storm. That's crazy. They will probably get double that amount tomorrow. This is more frustrating than the first four days of July last year with the big wet. Crapper Jim
There's somebody with a big Atari Asteroid Laser Gun habitually shooting these little cells away in the Greenville/Spartanburg area. jshetley
One more chance for rain tomorrow, then a week or more before any more decent chances arrive. I still think the years 1993, 1999, 2002, and 2007 are on the table for how this summer ends up.
mackerel_sky
Probably flooding about 5-10 miles to my N. Not enough drops here to wet the ground, moving to the N, of course! Cooled to 81, grass is brown, why even try anymore!
WxBlue
We've been getting enough rain this summer, I think. It stormed almost every afternoon 2 weeks ago and couple of times last 10 days.

They will probably get double that amount tomorrow. This is more frustrating than the first four days of July last year with the big wet. The Savannah airport (~10 miles NW of Savannah, itself) got an incredible 6.65" of rain late this afternoon into the early evening!! That makes today the wettest June day on record for the official SAV station. However, this isn't the wettest June day on record in the city, itself. That undoubtedly belongs to 6/29/99, when ~11" fell within just 12 hours, causing really bad flooding in many areas. I was in Savannah then and saw it firsthand. We got off lucky as only a part of our garage got some floodwater in it. Today, the city got ~1-3" but nothing like today at the airport or 6/29/99 in the city. (I was in Dunwoody, today.)
