The fact that we only dropped to 80 in most places will certainly help. I remember staying at 80 or above being reserved only for our great heatwaves.

79 was the minimum in KNYC this morning...

I guess they hit it in between hours. I doubt LGA went below 80 though because they never recorded a temp lower than 81 on the hourly updates.

Meanwhile it's really windy out of the northwest outside. I certainly didn't expect that.

not supposed to be as steamy this afternoon as dewpoints are forecasted to drop to 60 according to Upton so it will feel more comfortable

It'll be a dry heat and probably alot more comfortable overall than yesterday. The hot breeze will also help. Kinda surprised Philly is going with a heat advisory for the city and surrounding counties. HI's should max out around 95

Where is all this talk of lowering dew points coming from?

The 00z ECMWF still has dews in the mid-upper 60's over coastal locations and near 70 in interior NNJ at 00z tonight. Dews lower briefly but then shoot right back up.

Dewpoint is 64 and with the breeze it feels like mid 80s out. Yesterday at this time the real feel was 95

Previous runs were showing dews in the 70s during the day today. Deeper NW flow is keeping dews in the middle 60s.
