Eskimo Joe
GFDL with a Sandy redux, just further south. That'd be pretty sweet, though I doubt it pans out.

Ian
looks like it might be turning north at the end tho
Bob Chill
looks like it might be turning north at the end tho Some of the track solutions are pretty cool. North track and a hard left. We'll see what happens with the departing trough. Obviously the odds of a track like that are pretty low. Kinda like threading the needle with a snowstorm. But there is nothing else to really track right now so bring on some model porn before the phail.
dailylurker
I guess I wouldn't mind some model porn before the NE track takes hold. Been crickets around here.
AvantHiatus
Nothing like going from crickets to something like this, classic August. 12z Early Guidance is supportive

hosj III
So are we talking a Hazel redux or an Isabel redux?
AvantHiatus
12z Euro is east, GG. I have my doubts about the phantom lows on the GFS tho. Edit: 12z GFDL is suggesting a westward bend again. http://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis/models/gfdl/2014082212/gfdl_mslp_wind_96L.html
Ian
So are we talking a Hazel redux or an Isabel redux? Redux of a bunch of storms we don't remember that missed.
84 Hour NAM
This guy gets it. Am I allowed to unilaterally sell our winter for some cane action? Why on earth would you do that? I've never really understood this hoping for a landfalling hurricane. I've lived through a dozen of them and they suck and hurt peoples lives. smokeybandit
So now I have both a volcano and a hurricane to weenie-track before my flight to Ireland on Wednesday?
AvantHiatus
Why on earth would you do that? I've never really understood this hoping for a landfalling hurricane. I've lived through a dozen of them and they suck and hurt peoples lives. Simply because it is unprecedented and historic. The last true hurricane landfall from the east (excluding Sandy) was probably 1933 for this area. Isabel was a bit too displaced and weak compared to that one. Subtropics
In for a sandy redux 100 miles south.
Subtropics
00z GFS is a bit west.. Interesting for the east coast.. Stays off of Florida and heads north but still off the Mid Atlantic. The canadian is a fish from the start.. Euro will be telling.
dailylurker
It has been interesting. At least we have something to track during this boring pattern?I totally agree! I was actually tracking sprinkles today (that missed me lol). Tracking a cane would be so much more interesting. At least we're still in the game on this one. Subtropics
Euro still swimming, but definite west tick. Don't bury this thing yet. Not sure how much hope we have up this way at this point, but as always Cape Hatteras is in play if we are trying to head down there.

AvantHiatus
There is a reason why September and October have featured almost all of the significant NE/Mid Atlantic Canes. Just saying, enjoy your Sunday.
