Can't do this weekend.

I do like the idea of going to a park or some lake area.  Will be tough to find a lake or pond that does not charge some kind of admission for all of you cheap skates.  We have a few parks here, that have volleyball, and fields and such.  The town next to me has a bigger set up, and even a splash pad in case  it's hot and you guys want to run through the water naked.

My point is there may be a town park that is centrally located that we could meet at.  Maybe inside the 495 corridor would benefit a majority of the folks.  Or even outside of there.  It would be interesting to at least hear what facilities people have in their towns that are open to the public.

Also, for what it's worth, we have our summer party every year in August and you guys are always welcome.  No date as of yet has been set but I will post when it is.

Did this idea die? We should still try to get something going, especially considering a lot of the subforum probably won't make the big Amwx conference. If not, maybe some of us can make it to Brooklyn in August. I'm not sure what's going on with me, but I should still be in Connecticut then, considering my lease isn't up until the end of August. After that, I have no idea where I'll be, depending where I get a job. Who knows if that will be in southern New England or not.

Ok, this GTG is reminding me of one of those 264 hour GFS threats that just never progresses any further along on the meteorology-modeling continuum.

Could it be that this weenie festivus is destined to be held in a weather balloon at some obscure destination in the vicinity of H5??

Hopefully while we're there, we'll be united with  some of the snow in association with that epic meteorological display from last March.

New season. New regime.

Are we, in fact,  still doing this?

I like the Boston location of our December gtg but that's me. Funky's works but for me probably not before 11/1.

The 12/23 impromptu GTG was fun...just a few of us. Good place, but not good for parking though for those that don't use the T or commuter rail or walk.

Something after 11/1 works best for me too. Maybe 11/8 or 11/15 if its a Saturday.

I'm ok 11/8 but out of town 11/15 (Denver-snow there maybe?). I could do 11/22, 12/6, 12/20.

And Jeez let's get together.  Ray talked about an Ice Bar that we need to go to.

I'm down if you guys are.

The one caveat about the place is that you are only allowed to stay in it for about 45 minutes because alcohol ingestion and the 28* indoor temperature don't reall mix well

Not far from our last spot, though....we could head there afterwards.

Its cool (pun intended), though....everything is ice. Chairs, tables, glasses lol
