Rib
It looks like most of the action is going to miss us to the west but that's what I saw for that one front that gave us a widespread 3-6+ inches of rain. It's too early for this muggy crap. Looks like that SE Bahamas flow for today into tomorrow before the FROPA which is probably the most disgusting feeling weather possible. I find it easier to take when there's a cold front to the west heading this way. Feels like a hard rain is going to fall.

Harbourton
PWATS are up there in the 1.5- 1.75 inch range that will be enhanced by a low level jet. Nice write up the latest AFD which I paraphrased.

famartin
It was a beautiful late spring night, with warm temps, high humidity, that pleasant smell of new growth. Only thing odd was the gusty wind, which made me wonder if it was the warm sector during a late in Autumn or Winter system, rather than mid May. KamuSnow
Winds were very impressive early this morning. Some really impressive gusts. Now comes the rains. The wind was one thing I didn't see coming, maybe because I was more focused on the rain...put frost blankets down on a newly seeded area last night and one of them managed to come loose in the wind even though staked down and with water hoses draped over them. KamuSnow
A pretty unusual orientation for a cold front in these parts, almost due south to north.

KamuSnow
I have 2.24" of rain as of 9:40AM. Winds haven't been an issue as of yet. Pretty impressive - here we've had about an inch so far at 11 am. Radar looks like a batch of heavier rain moving in, then we might be winding down after that.

noctilucent
u will miss an A+ weekend! this thing should be wrapping up by 4pm for philly N/W? Yep....I was noticing the same. Currently I am about 0.70" - or just above. Even with the line moving through, it appears to be weakening, rather than strengthening or maintaining the status quo. I see about an inch for us, which, while a healthy rain event, is not FFW-worthy after a week of dry conditions. Unless they (NWS) are counting on some Atlantic moisture being drawn in on the backside..... The A+ weekend will have nice weather, though a bit cooler than normal, once again. Time to start thinking about Memorial Day weekend weather.
noctilucent
Home today, flying tomorrow So, Ray...I assume you were enjoying those sauna-like conditions around noon yesterday, as compared to your semi-arid environment? Birds~69
Without the gusty winds at times this was really a non event around here.....showers. I doubt I have an inch as it never really kicked in w/heavy downpours and should be over relatively soon or very light. No big loss as the Phils can get their game in this evening and dry out for a nice weekend.

noctilucent
Wow... Not far from you and have nearly 1.75" I'm not far from Horsham and am about 1.25" right now. Seems like heavier bursts don't want to quit, though it looks like it will be over with soon. I was out and about to get to the Post Office and give the car a good pollen wash. I was surprised at the number of trash cans blown down and even a couple newspaper/pamphlet-stands in the local shopping center. I had heard some good wind bursts but did not think we got past 30 mph in gusts, but.....I guess they did. Temp is also down about 4 degrees since 30 mins ago and the wind is more WNW now. Harbourton
Looks like most of the heavy precip was west of the Delaware River and even west of Philly for a change. Pretty much a normal spring rain here. Sump pump alert was not in affect today.

Is the media exaggerating the rainfall totals? Radar totals are not backing up what is shown on TV.
