Marion_NC_WX
Are we going with the first tropical depression or the first named storm? You can do either...when I used the word "system" in naming this thread I was thinking depression.
CAD_Wedge_NC
You can do either...when I used the word "system" in naming this thread I was thinking depression. Ok then....Tropical Depression it is. My guess is June 25th in the western Gulf of Mexico / Bay of Campeche. By that time, we have a greater than 50% chance of seeing the first tropical activity. WxBlue
I like June 15th just off coast of Carolinas on Atlantic side. In 12 years of tracking, that area seem to get the storm first most of years around late June or early July.

kvegas-wx
August 1st. Joyful end to the most boring weather pattern in years. I do find it interesting that the latest first tropical storm on record during the satellite era was Sept 11th in 1941. Where is the best location to track historical water temp trends? Temps off the east coast do seem frigid for this time of year. 60's and low 70's off the carolina coast.

Too busy. :/ Lol, in your dreams weatherboy! And there's records to back my claim And I like my chances this year too.... I just can't seem to get my 6 inches of sleet, for some reason.... but it's coming. Let's see...you've gotten to see hail, right? How about flooding from a cutoff TD, or a100 plus winds from a hurricane in Columbus? I'm sure Ga. has more to offer you weather wise, though I guess the latter two are things you could could easily see back home. T

I haven't experienced 100 mph winds, but was close with Charley. However, I'd never want to see that here in the Columbus area... Just... No... LOL!
