BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTEDTORNADO WARNINGNATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DETROIT/PONTIAC MI455 PM EDT MON MAY 12 2014THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DETROIT/PONTIAC HAS ISSUED A* TORNADO WARNING FOR...  MONROE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN...* UNTIL 600 PM EDT* AT 451 PM EDT...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A  TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR DUNDEE...AND MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH.  HAZARD...TORNADO AND QUARTER SIZE HAIL.  SOURCE...RADAR INDICATED ROTATION.

Just popped up while looking at WXYZ coverage. Could enter into Ontario at some point as well. There is a ton of action in SEMI but not too many posters from there chatting about it. 3 TOR warnings currently.

Looks like the severe cells will do the split here.  Just very difficult to get legit severe criteria conditions in Milwaukee County itself.  Of the average six to eight severe warnings every year here, maybe one actually verifies, though I guess that's not unusual when most are radar indicated.

Svr warned but kind of a grungy mess up here - plenty of triggers from earlier laying around though. We came down from Madison behind a nice hail shaft and then as it moved on northeast a small notch formed.

This was taken looking back northeast at it from vicinity Hwy M and SB I-90 (10 or so north of Janesville).

move to chicago, actual city. we need a bigger city crew.

 

Too much marine influence, and the UHI effect (ie. more annoying sticky nights) would nullify any thunderstorm advantage.  Moving a bit inland (Waukesha, Lake Geneva, or West Bend) while still being close enough to the lake for some cooler summer days would be an ideal weather related move.
