Someone's head is rolling for this one...loss of revenue over a rainout called too early...ouch

Honestly the rain currently off the mid-altantic coast will likely impact the city. They might have been able to pull it out with a few rain delays but with good weather coming up they probably just didn't want to deal with it.

Well, this rainstorm more-or-less continued this past winter's theme of hyperbole-laden threads yielding lackluster precipitation events. 4 hundredths of an inch since this morning and drizzling a bit... will be 'lucky' to hit 1 tenth. I'm not complaining (well, only a little).

we don't need another deluge - that one a few weeks ago worked my sump pump too hard it is now rainly moderate - to heavier here in northern middlesex county nj

Upton and Mt. Holly both like the HRRR. FWIW they think the 12z GFS has the slight victory here out of the non-Mesoscale models. HRRR brings the stuff off of the Delmarva straight up the NJ coastline tonight so we shall see exactly how it pans out but they haven't dropped the flash flood watches so that should tell you something.

Absolutely pathetic rainfall amounts as of this afternoon. This old/decaying front just couldn't keep it together long enough to deliver some beneficial rainfall.

That mass off the Delmarva is the last hope for a couple days.

Reservoir around is is literally empty...like I'm able to walk on it.

The bulk of that will miss and bullseye LI and CT.

LI about to be slammed. Hey Yanks, even though you hate LI, take a drive east and you will see some real rain. :)

I can't remember what tropical storm it was, I believe 3 summers ago. The city literally had no rainfal but I drove out east and it was 50-60mph winds and heavy rain fast once you past fire island.

Irene maybe? We had over 9" of rain here from that but I think the city had much less. Number one flood of all time here.

I don't remember Earl affecting the area other that large swells and maybe Montauk getting some tropical storm conditions.

I'm not positive, but there might have been tropical storm watches or warnings for eastern LI. And I think there were hurricane warnings for the cape but it passed by as a tropical storm.
