I want to see a chicken wing nado! I created one Monday at the wild wing cafe lunch buffet! It was amazing! Due to the 9-5 m-f aspect of my job, I can only eat that on holidays , because they serve it 1130-2 m-f. I highly reccomend it! Didnt eat breakfast and hit the 46 wing plateau, and had to quit. They just keep bringing them till you tap out! Good times

Currently 82 and humid ! Looking forward to heavy rain tomorrow and Friday ! :)

I could really use some rain IMBY.  The downsloping effect in the lee of the Apps is quite evident in this 30-day rainfall map.  Look at that relative minimum hugging the eastern side of the Apps in NC and SC.  Only 1-2 inches for most places in this region, while parts of the rest of the state have received upwards of 6 inches.

per WCNC  -

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Flash Flood Warning is in effect in Mecklenburg and Union counties after thunderstorms rolled through the viewing area.

Viewers also tell us the Luke Bryan concert at PNC Music Pavilion was delayed about 45 minutes and people were advised to return to their cars.

Well, MBY finally picked up measurable rainfall this afternoon:  0.10 inch.  Not much to write home about, but it's definitely better than nothing.  The temperature is fantastic, though!  Meanwhile, the Charlotte metro area to my SE has once again hit the jackpot of convergence and buckets of rainfall.  Here's the current radar image:

Picked up 1.68 inches thus far and it's still raining. No wind to speak of, no hail, just a good ole fashioned toad strangler. I could get used to this.

I'm incredibly jealous of that rainfall total, CAD.  Where exactly is your location again?  "NC Foothills" is a rather broad swath of land.

Near the Catawba/Lincoln county line.

So, we're less than 20 or so miles away from each other, and you're rainfall totals today are almost 1700% of mine.  :arrowhead:

Same thing happened yesterday and earlier this week too.  Southern Catawba County has been picking up the rainfall as storms scoot by over Morganton and drift to the SE.  Alexander and Wilkes Counties have also done well with rainfall, but then those storms have drifted more due east this week.  I'm beginning to get whiny now.  I'll stop.  :(

Only 0.12" here in the past week

The difference between north of the cold front and south of it. It went through here early this morning totally dry.

0 rain today, heard thunder all around on several occasions, and the storms outflow made an enjoyable evening for my sons baseball game. Was very pleasant with a nice breeze. The convection in Charlotte will dissipate as it heads ssw, you can almost count on it! This pattern is nothing like last summers! Still waiting on that wet El Niño to kick in!?

Columbia looks to be doing well with the storms and rainfall! Hope some makes it here. 75 and dry

There's no chance of these storms coming back into the upstate tonight. I'm not seeing how we get rain tomorrow either unless the front stalls. It looks like the rain will fall on the GA side of the Savannah river tomorrow on the warm side of the front.
