Very lush looking this morning. Wet and humid morning. Some fog hugging the lakeshore from Kenosha to Racine.

On the GFS at least it looks like next week's frost threat is pretty far north.

another round of heavy rain moving in, should keep drought conditions out of sight for the time being

The Great Lakes in general should not have any drought concerns in the near future, especially since they are on the northern periphery of these heat ridges for now.

I wish the warm and humid weather we had yesterday would stick around.  Today we are back to the 50s, underperforming due to a widespread cloud shield.

The Wednesday/Thursday system was largely a dud around here.  I picked up 0.15" of rain with a few rumbles of thunder.

Cold front on its way boys...  They say I'll clear out by sunset!  great.

Cold (compared to yesterday and windy out)...  Lots of trees are flowering.

Still in the 70s around here. Managed 0.48" of rain overnight and this morning.

87*F BTW is a record high for Detroit, breaking the previous record of 86*F set in 2000.

Pretty impressive, all things considered...

that 86 was set on 3 previous years, so might as well have broken it rather than tied for a 4th time. Aftee months of cold and snow records, not to mention the overwhelming below normal temp regime, our warmest day in 8 months breaks the daily record. I drove over the bridge on 75 yesterday (where you see the tree line below) and I swear im not making this up...at 11am it was mostly brown with some green, and then the same spot 6 hours later when i drove by had tons of green with just some brown. Trees literally bloomed in hours yesterday.

Not much talk about the rain and tstorm potential with Sunday and Monday's surge of moisture and likely multiple rounds of showers and storms. A few inches of rain in a 48 hour period (or even 36 hour period) certainly look possible.

I'd probably take the under with that, there is a good chance of convective episodes but models tend to overdue precipitation in these cases. Also placement at this junction is uncertain depending upon the placement of the warm front.

Most certainly the case, but we know the moisture will be there for those along and just south/north of the warm front.

High 74° today. Was a A+ spring day. Little t-storm action followed by warm and drier air.

Few pictures I took on a short walk through the woods outside of Kenosha yesterday.

Great pics Geos!

Decided to go out 'shroom hunting.... no luck just yet, soil temp is 49 so still a tad cool locally but I have heard of a few being found. Still a few places in the woods with snow.

Great Saturday morning. Light westerly winds and temps near 64° already. Rapidly gaining more shade in the yard as the leaves get bigger each day.

GFS still bullish on the rain through Tuesday.
