LongBeachSurfFreak
East wind has been cranking all morning. At times up around advisory level. The duration of the wind should put us at warning level coastal flooding at tonight's high tide. After sandy it all seems minor though

We'll easily see over 2": NYC 1.11" LGA 1.07" JFK 1.08" EWR 1.43" I doubt anyone here seriously thought anyone would see under 2" in this area. Going to go out on a limb here and say none of the major airports record under 3" of rain total. The heaviest amounts are still to come tonight where the RAP is indicating an additional 3"+ in spots. IsentropicLift
Doppler radar is estimating a large swath of 0.25"+ per hour rates with embedded 0.50"+ per hour rates propagating towards the area from the SW. The 16z RAP has that moving through with a brief break around 10PM before the finale which looks to end around sometime around 5-6AM on that model. IsentropicLift
This has to be additional rain forecasted right? No reason to lower totals this much. I know it says from 8AM this morning, Doesn't make sense since it was just issued.

I know it says from 8AM this morning, Doesn't make sense since it was just issued. It's from 8am this morning to the end. So take the amount you had at 8am and add that much to it. That still brings a lot of people close to 4".
