Here's the video of the very close lightning strike that I captured.  Actually, the strike was to my right.  More or less captured the insanely loud thunder.  Not sure what it actually struck.   Just know it wasn't my weather station!  Phew.

Nice video - I like how you added the little jump when the lightning struck for dramatic effect, lol. I probably would have had to say something, like "Whoa!".

Yep, that's all it was, a dramatic effect that I added.  It did not startle me at all.  lol   I've become pretty good at staying quiet while filming, but the jump I couldn't control.

Dang, slept right through it. Did see a lot of lightning flashes in the distance, off to the southwest, around 11 pm, along with the starry sky and a lot of lightning bugs. Picked up about 0.80" of rain from the storm later on. Nice to end the mini hot spell with some rain. Looks like a nice few days coming up!
