This model has nailed the past two winters. http://www.jamstec.go.jp/frsgc/research/d1/iod/sintex_f1_forecast.html.en Just looked at this... perhaps it did nail last winter (though a little more detail would be helpful, a glance I took didn't reveal it to be especially insightful), but not from the April before... For example, if it had been right, I would've probably had 60" of snow this winter instead of 20".
Harbourton
Not sure that it makes any difference at this point in the season but the teleconnections are aligning again around the end of April start of May.
Voyager
I don't want any stinking teleconnections. I want spring and summer. This crap sucks. Other than green grass, it still looks more like mid January than late April. There are absolutely NO leaves on ANY trees up my way yet.

Harbourton
Cut off low hell incoming. I've been waiting for the dreaded cutoff spring low. Looks like the globals are honing in on it now for next week-days of miserable weather.

After this weekend's warm shot it looks like it's going to cool back down a bit (May 16-21) Still a lot of uncertainty as you would expect but going off the Euro ensembles it looks as if their will be some ridging poking up into the NAO regions. iceman56
What's the consensus on next winter's El Nino? I saw some predictions of a pretty strong one. Models I've seen recently show a peak late fall just shy of +1.5 then tailing off slowly which can work out well for our part of the world. BucksCO_PA
. The guy in Richmond is indicating outside of the deep south no "sustained" heat for the remainder of the summer, locally I can't even say we've had any sustained heat this summer.
