Hoosier
A significant tornado outbreak occurred in Iowa, Illinois and Indiana ten years ago today. Although nearly all of the tornadoes were F0/F1, a few were not and one of them resulted in several fatalities. This outbreak is rather unique in that it caught nearly everybody off guard, a situation that we can hope doesn't happen again. First warning of the day...seemed rather innocent at the time Initial warned storm in the main part of the outbreak a few hours later ILX: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/ilx/events/apr202004/apr20tor.php LOT: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/lot/?n=uticatornado DVN: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/dvn/?n=ev20040420tor http://www.crh.noaa.gov/dvn/?n=ev20040420torputnam IND: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/ind/?n=april20_2004 IWX: http://www.crh.noaa.gov/iwx/program_areas/events/2004/04_20_04_tornadoes/index.php
