stormitecture
Not the best quality being web-based versions but...... Highest viewed image (aired on TWC): from the same spot: ***and yes...I know the 'warrior' name is misspelled. I missed it in making an 'action' in photoshop. AND...although technically taken in 2009 (the DC Dec.19 storm), this image was my top earner in 2010:

dilly84
I always wanted to go to the Canadian Rockies/Glacier! Looks sick. I would love to go to Banff, but I heard it can get really crowded (for good reason). Heard Watertown is good place to go to get away from the crowds. Been to banff, went on Valentines day with my ex. Absolutely beautiful, was about 60"+ snow on the ground. One of the absolutely most gorgeous places I've ever seen. Expensive though. Some of the restaraunts are like $150 a plate. So wasn't a fan of that part, but everything else was great.
w7xman
Hi All, Finally made my way over here this year...love the new site! My photography this year has been rather productive, but I didn't get out nearly as much as I would have liked after switching jobs. I've had even less time to focus on weather, but, that's life, and I'm thankful for any time spent in the outdoors enjoying nature and weather of any kind. Here's my Top 10 in chronological order! Carter Notch Fox - A light snowfall really set a nice mood for this curious fellow at the bunkhouse after a great night at Carter Notch Observing the Undercast - I picked a perfect day to be above treeline this time, and had one of the MWO Observers give a sense of scale to the view from Goofer Point towards Lakes of the Clouds Spring at the Heath - If you've never been to the Saco Heath, it's one of the most unique and spectacular places in the region in Mid May... Presidential Lupines - While the lupines at Sugar Hill get all of the attention, the Israel River Valley is just as striking! Dew on Grass Pink Orchid - For the second year in the row, I've included a Grass Pink. I love this flower! Roadside Moose - This Hayfield had gone to seed by early August, and this young Moose really was out standing in his field! Washington from Lafayette - Caught a fantastic sunrise from the summit of Lafayette, and I loved the minimalist view of the ridges. Godrays in Greenleaf - Not one hour after the previous shot, I was thilled with the way the steam of the coffee interplayed with the cold air inside the hut! Hurricane Earl - Though the waves weren't that impressive with this storm, a long exposure really made the water and rock look powerful and surreal! Chocorua Lake - Wanted this shot for a long time. Well over a dozen times. Finally got it! Thanks for taking this journey through the year in pictures with me! To a safe, happy and beautiful 2011! superjames1992
These are from the 1/30-1/31 storm in which I received about 7.5" of snow. There were taken on the late afternoon of January 31st. OMG! The snow piles look huge! Here's a couple of my favorites from the Christmas/Boxing Day Storm. I ended up with 7" of snow. This was taken around 4:30 AM on 12/26. The snow was lighter and would wind down by dawn. This was taken at dawn when the accumulating snow was over. This was taken a couple days later and shows the snow with the Christmas lights, a sight seen twice in my life (the other time being 2009, actually). Usually, our accumulating snows comes mostly in January and February (3"+ average both months) along with March (1.7" average). December only averages about an inch per year, although we had 9" in 2010 and 5.5" in 2009. One interesting thing to note is how dry the snow from the January storm was. It didn't really stick to the trees at all. In comparison, the storm on Christmas and Boxing Day stuck all over the trees and turned them white. Towards the end, the Christmas snow got pretty dry, as well, but the majority of the snow on Christmas Day itself fell during the day/evening with temperatures at or above freezing. For viewing purposes, the Christmas/Boxing Day Storm was more visually appealing due to this.

Juliancolton
All awesome shots everyone! 2010 was a year of photographic breakthrough for me in that my shots from January are significantly lower in quality than my shots toward the end of the year. So here's my favorite from 2010: (downsized for ease of upload; also, sunrise at about 6 am at Misquamicut Beach, RI)

stormitecture
Yes, damn good stuff. Cody...excellent grab on the 'greenage' from the hail core. I great shot to help show the light bend situation of the ice in the storm as it clear shows the same colors often seen in icebergs when photographed near the arctic circles. BadgerWXman
Hey guys, I'm a bit new here.. loved the pics in this thread. I'm by no means a professional photographer, but I figured I'd pull a few of my best pics of the past year and share them anyways... Few snaps of summer morning fog I took from a plane.. this is over the mountains/coalfields of beautiful southern WV: That plane I was in was on the way to Nevis Island in the Caribbean.. the place we stayed at had a nice view out over the ocean, and little showers and storms would pop up almost every day.. you could always see the whole structure of the cloud and the rain hitting the ocean: At the end of that trip, we were taking the ferry from Nevis Island to the sister island where the airport was, St. Kitts. I'm sitting on the upper deck watching some showers in the distance and all of the sudden I see what looks like a funnel cloud: There wasn't a big thunderstorm or anything like that so I dismissed it as a weird cloud formation at first, but after a few minutes it became clear that it was a waterspout. How awesome... I've never been storm chasing (always wanted to) and here I am about to leave the Caribbean and I get to watch a full waterspout, beginning to end. Heres a nice shot where you can see the water getting kicked up at the surface: I'll end it with a pic of my kids (yes, they're actually good friends):
