Might be able to make a case for it with those amounts given the non-wintry weather of late and the possibility that it's still snowing for morning rush hour there.

I think combine that with a quick freeze, I would agree with you.

0z NAM text has 2.4" for LAF. That would work. Regardless..."nice" temp plunge back to winter, for a little bit.

Some lingering minor differences in the models for us.  Still favoring the inch or less call at this point but could get a touch more if things go right.

Not expecting it but if we get lucky and get 2" out of this, it would be the 4th latest 2" snowfall on record for Lafayette going back to the late 1800s.  According to the local met, there was a few inches of snow on April 18, 1821 but records are too sketchy that far back.

Seems like a decent call. I guess we'll wait and watch what transpires.

Local COOP snowfall records (including the TV met) around here are sketchy in the past 5 years, let alone almost 200 years. ;)

Haha.  I give him credit though...sometimes I wonder where the heck he finds this stuff.

A couple things to watch for Indianapolis...

The last time there was measurable snow so late in April was 2001, when 0.2" fell on April 16.

The last time there was at least 1" of snow so late in April was 1961, when 2.7" fell from April 15-17.

And lol that its in the upper 60s at midnight, and in about 30 hours there should be snow on the ground with temps well down into the 20s.

And up to 70°F at 5 and 6am...mid-June weather. Crazy to think this is going to happen, but it WILL snow.

Noted that snow totals have been upped a bit for the metro area, as of this morning,  not much of an increase, but some areas may see an inch or so, mainly on grassy areas.  That's up from .2" to .5"  they were talking about over the weekend.
