WHEN A TORNADO WARNING IS ISSUED BASED ON DOPPLER RADAR...IT MEANS

THAT STRONG ROTATION HAS BEEN DETECTED IN THE STORM. A TORNADO MAY

ALREADY BE ON THE GROUND...OR IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP SHORTLY. IF YOU

ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS DANGEROUS STORM...MOVE INDOORS AND TO THE

LOWEST LEVEL OF THE BUILDING. STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS. IF DRIVING...DO

NOT SEEK SHELTER UNDER A HIGHWAY OVERPASS.

 

THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A

WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS

Sounds like it got Pantego reports of large debris in the air as it went through......also reports of debris falling away from the path....this is all from local news sources. I got a buddy down there on the Pantego VFD but no reply to my txt yet but he might be busy.

Lots of pics now on Facebook from WITN and WNCT good size tornado, my hunting club is right there about 6 miles west of Pantego and most of the guys in the club live in that general area around Pantego. haven't heard any official reports of houses destroyed or injuries etc yet....

The good news is there is absolutely nothing out there where it is right now, if it holds up though Manteo over to Nags Head could be in trouble hopefully the colder water and air will kill it.

 

Confirmed injures a man and his son where in their truck and were tossed off the road into a field expected to ok but are being transported to hospital.
