So I guess I'm just invisible, me and my posts about Arkansas -_-

Tonight sucked. They hit the same fcking spots as 2011. Mayflower, Maumelle, Vilonia and El Paso. 6 fatalities. Vilonia got hit by the EF2 in 2011 almost to the date, I followed that storm into town. I can;t believe it just got hit again. My first job ever was at 16 years old at the McDonald's in El Paso, which I am not sure about yet but am guessing it got it judging by my GR watching, the twitter pics, KARK, etc. At least my town of Cabot got spared again....however, the threat is not over I guess. UGH.

I saw them all NCsandhills.  It was gut wrenching watching an area that had just experienced similar devastation on a smaller scale go through it again.  Watching the interviews from people in Vilonia, they seem to have more of a pissed off complex at mother nature then the shock you normal see people express when they experience tornado devastation for the first time.  And I can't blame them one single bit.  I am glad that your family is safe and I really hope this is the last tornado that area see's for a very long time.

I don't get it either. No MS, AL, LA, or AR posters. You would this time of the year, that is when the most posters would be here.

They all post in the Tennessee Valley subforum now that we split the SE into different sections.  I miss a lot of those posters, but I never make the time to go check out their forum.  It takes enough time to catch up on the stuff going on in this subforum.  Collateral damage from greater specification is that your circle of influence grows smaller...

Sorry, Captain Calculus of the USS AWF.  ;)

Trust me, you're not invisible at all as I saw your posts in the other thread! I'm glad your part of town got spared, but it's still awful night for your area :\

Thank you. It really was gut wrenching when I was watching GR and watching the KARK live stream. I was expecting it to be worse from what SPC etc were putting out. I was messaging on FB a friend in Mayflower at the time. He asked me if he was good and I had to talk him and my other friends there with him through it! Was crazy. I hope there is not more in 3 weeks when I go visit.

What? Was my interpretation of what he said incorrect?

Possibly? Tell you the truth I didn't really see anything wrong with what he said.  :yikes:

Anybody know how middle Ga is looking severe wx wise? My dad messaged me from Warner Robins asking how his weather will be....

My bad. Btw, I saw your posts yesterday in the severe weather thread. I know what it feels like to have family and friends impacted. I lost a couple of family members in the Yazoo City tornado. I had only met them a couple of times at a family reunion. Fwiw the family reunion the year before the Yazoo City tornado was in Louisville, MS which got hit by a violent tornado today I believe. :(

Sorry, I miss interpreted what he was saying.

Well, if you're Miss Interpreted, who's Miss Congeniality:P  :D

Glad everyone got you straightened out, Metalman.  I just logged back in and couldn't figure out with what part of my statement you were taking offense.  I was simply rehashing an old lament and wishing we were all still in the same forum.

Anyway, it has already been quite the intense couple of days for Dixie Alley with tragic loss of life.  As much as storms interest and awe me, I dread the casualties that always seem to occur.  I'm hoping for lots of rain here in WNC but with very little in the area of tornadic or, for that matter, straight-line winds.

It's wild, isn't it man? I just shed some tears for the victims in Arkansas when I saw their pictures. Heartbreaking... And yeah I do believe you are right about Louisville. This reminds me exactly of why I am so passionate about the weather, though. I hope we can all stay safe up here tomorrow and Wednesday. But this seems eerily similar to 2011 with Vilonia, Birmingham and Tuscaloosa all potential hits....

Broke down and picked up a weather radio this morning down at Walgreens while I was out stocking up on prescriptions. Like I said during the winter with the impending ice storm that we got lucky with, the priorities and actions are a lot different now that my wife is relegated to a walker and/or wheelchair to get around. Hope the radio never has to chirp!

Guess the radio setup went as it's supposed to :) 30 seconds after showing the wife how to use it, the alarm sounded for the new tornado watch. Got it set up for Wake and Johnston, since that's where family lives, but may add Harnett and Cumberland, since that's usually where storms track from into our area.

We have gone from getting 5-6 inches to where I'll be happy if we get an inch of rain.  No rain at all so far and not even any thunder.  No rain within 300 miles of us right now either.  18z GFS has cut totals in half and NAM has us getting less than an inch of rain.  These epic events never work out for the Upstate.  I won't be surprised to wake up to dry ground again.  Rant over!  :axe:

Wow... that was "real close" to being a wiener post.  Real close.. but, you stopped short of

the "give me a dog with everything on it... add a 'Dr. Tamland' ta drink!"

<<been testing that boundary myself today.

If I wake tomorrow with a pink tag... I'll understand.

Big Busts are great 'till they get so old they drag the ground.

Bessemer City, Ranlo... what's the rest of that shiate that lines 74 before you get the hell out of Hell?  ;)

BTW - Tornados create JOBS!

Somebodys' got to rebuild all those tuna cans.

Yes if a storm came through here it would do $1 million worth of improvements
