Bessemer City, Ranlo... what's the rest of that shiate that lines 74 before you get the hell out of Hell? BTW - Tornados create JOBS! Somebodys' got to rebuild all those tuna cans. Shelby, Stanley , Smyre, Lowell, Cramerton, Belmont, downtown Gastonia( the former tattoo capital of the South!) before SC legalized tattoos, 9 out of 10 people that lived in SC went to Gastonia to get their tats! Almost forgot Boiling springs ! . If you want to drive through some real dumps, go up or down 321, I bet that ends up in Waycross , somehow! sparklecity
Well at least it rained enough to wet the ground! Has anybody ever been under a flood watch for 3 days to never even receive measurable rainfall? Once again convection along the gulf coast has robbed the upstate. metalicwx366
Lol, I don't think the models had that MCS there. Not sure why it's so hard for models to pick up on those. Both NWS and TWC, have storms in the afternoon and the MCS is about an hour or two away. There goes the severe threat as well.

Lol you should have known that was going to happen. Remember the 18-21 inch snowstorm. Our tor con here was a 6, probably a 1 now. I bet we only get light rain from this crazy to the west that gave Pensacola 20 inches of rain.
toxictwister00
I guess I can't complain in the rain department. Eventhough it wasn't the 3-5 inches forecast, I got around an inch of rain since Sunday. I think the airport only got about half of that within the same timeframe though. weatherheels
Well, At least we got some downpours last night, other than that it's just been misty. Hope some rain can make its way up here today and give us a good soaking. Right now it feels pretty good outside at 63, overcast and obviously humid. Never had a flood watch for this long and not get substantial rain.

mackerel_sky
Biggest rain bust in years in my back yard! Flood watch for three days in a row, slight risk of severe three days in a row! Less than .10 of rain, not the first clap of thunder! First the snow bust of all snow busts this winter, now this!!? What did I do to deserve this?? All I needed was rain for my garden! Mack, Reminder: a lot of the snow bust was because the Euro and its ensembles have a real clown for a clown! It never was a real prediction. It was make-believe. They count ZR, IP and SN all as SN. Unfortunately, the Euro clown was misused by many. The distribution of Euro clowns should be made illegal.

Somebody should send Mack a cactus with a nice red bow... and a sweet little card apologizing for the epic drought he's gonna cry about this year. Oh yeah - throw in a gift card for chicken wings... ... wherever the hell he binges on those. I'm broke, and it looks like the crops aren't gonna do well this year. My wife, Lucille, has picked a fine time to leave me. I've got nine hungry cats and a crop in the field!

I know the euro was throwing out crazy numbers, but I thought GFS had some significant totals as well, but regardless of crazy models, I just didnt get that much QPF, I'd bet we got less than.60 liquid equivalent , so after the flip to sleet, we didnt have much moisture, and the ULL maybe produced a half inch of snow, but was a nice way to end the event! CAD_Wedge_NC
Wow... that was "real close" to being a wiener post. Real close.. but, you stopped short of the "give me a dog with everything on it... add a 'Dr. Tamland' ta drink!" <<been testing that boundary myself today. If I wake tomorrow with a pink tag... The crazy snowfall amounts did verify, for the most part, along the I-77 corridor in NC. However, I will agree, it was not as wide-spread as the clown map depicted. But up into NC, it was, indeed, closer to reality due to a relative lack of IP/ZR compared to further SW. I really think that the Euro clowns should be shot. They are literally embarrassing the greatest model in the history of our planet because they're incorrectly derived from said model. OMG, what a CF (excuse the language). Cold Rain
I was expecting a flood... now they'll tell us the water rates will go up because they had to shuffle around to handle the possible flooding. That's crap and cover for raising rates, which were already planned. They did the same thing in Raleigh a few years back. Rates went up because of the drought. Then they went up because of too much rain. Then they went up because it was too normal. Funny how they never go up because the city needs more money. It's always the weather's fault. Oh, and GDP only grew in Q1 at 0.1%, why? Because of the weather, of course.
Brick Tamland
I really hope the weather stays dry for a while. My son has had three t-ball practices canceled because of the weather.
