MAG5035
Wow.. judging by the radar it took that squall line 36 minutes to get from Shippensburg to Harrisburg (36ish miles as the crow flies). Good for a general speed of 60mph this thing is moving.
canderson
Oh that was it? Must've missed to the north. About 3 minutes of gusts but now just moderate rain. At east we got rain!

sauss06
Thousands still without power in the region, Cumberland, Perry, York, Lancaster and Dauphin Counties. Anyone see the pictures from Watts Township/New Buffalo? ABC27 had some good shots this am...looks like every power pole and transformer is on the ground. Edit- i guess will soon find out, i heard the NWS is sending people up to asscess damage. straight line winds, micro burst, Tornado?
heavy_wx
Not too much in the way of severe here in the State College area. The development of weak, semi-discrete cells ahead of the developing line seemed to delay the system's organization here. I think once enough merging of cold pools took place and there was more homogenous lifting of parcels along the gust front, a few bowed segments were able to develop and produce the more widespread damaging winds seen in eastern PA and upstate NY. canderson
That Perry County event in Watts Township / near Duncannon wasn't a tornado, per NWS. Straight line winds caused the damage.
Eskimo Joe
SPC has highlight eastern 2/3rds of the state in a SLIGHT risk for this afternoon. Big Jims Videos
Up in Pittston right now watched the cell move to the north of us by about a mile. Surprisingly I noticed some rotation in it as the southwest side of the cell moved just about overhead. Also storms appear to be spinning out south of Mansfield. heavy_wx
Seeing some lightning and heavy rain here on the southern edge of a pretty decent looking bowed segment. Should be some good gusts to the east-northeast of State College.
Storm Clouds
Dang that line that is about to move into western MD really exploded the last half hour...looks like it's trying to build up into south PA also! Oh boy...
Storm Clouds
Well so much for that...it looked very nice, but once we lost the sun, the line basically faded to moderate rain. Still a couple decent cells around Harrisburg though.
