The snow was obviously a joke but that time frame has a lot of support for kicking off the month with a deep trough and pretty chilly air for May. Might be a pretty nice fropa with some storms/wind leading in.

I mowed my lawn for the first time yesterday. Definitely the latest since I bought the house in 03. I'm going to Italy of all places next week (on company dime where my wife works). I love traveling without breaking out the wallet. I started looking at all the models and climo thinking it would be difficult to get a bead on the weather but it's apparently simple on the coast this time of year. Highs upper 60's and lows upper 50's every day with some showers here and there. About as boring as here lately.

Bob Chill
good for you, I've never been there. Have cut the lawn once and it needs it again. I'm pretty excited. It's a cruise so we get to see a bunch of the coast and 5 ports. I'm loving the all inclusive including alcohol aspect. I might need to check into betty ford when I get back. I plan on eating fish and shellfish everywhere. Not being able to fish while there will be torture. This is the first full week vaca my wife and I have had without kids in 10 years. We do a couple long weekends every year but nothing like this. When I get back the yard work list will be 4 chapters long so I'll lose the weight I'll surely gain pretty quick. WEATHER53
I think the forecasts for widespread showers on Friday will bust. The core of the low will be well to our northwest and what moisture that does make it over the mountains will get dried out by the very dry departing high. I agree that the low being that far northwest will make it unlikely for a washout Afternoon/Evening. We could get some rumblies though. NinjaWarrior2
RAP wants to bring showers/thunderstorms through in the 7-9pm period tonight. So about next week, it looks ugly. 6z GFS is like 2.5-3.0 inches of rain next week. That's wetter than most models though.
