I am beside my self with utter JOY!!!!!!!

I got my battleship gray sky with scudding low clouds.

I got my cool refreshing rain.

I got my refreshing northerly winds.

This airmass is fricken OVERPERFORMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is 37 degrees with rain and SLEET!!!!!! Winds are gusting to 34 mph. The wind chills are EXHILARATING!!!

Temps in the house are falling back into the upper 60s!!!!!!!

We are a snow town.

A snow town can not and will not be denied.

Not even in mid April!

This winter absolutely LOVES the Mid Atlantic!!!!!

Even in Mid April!!!!

mattmfm asked on twitter if we've had wintry precip on a day that got to 70 before. I see three cold season dates with a T and a 70+ huff and at least one was hail.. Apr 3 2006. So quite unusual for dca if it goes down as a trace.

Not the model soundings I looked at. (GFS/NAM/NAM4km) All of them had the switchover to sleet for an hour but nobody had "white astroids" for the metro area. No way, warm nose was too warm or precip was too late.

I admit I didn't look at many soundings but the maps of many models suggested the idea esp in banding.  We've mentioned the risk at CWG for a few days now.. the GFS algorithms had us turning over around this time for a while too.  Euro may be closer with sfc temps but perhaps in the middle of the cold Americans and it.

Dad just called from 83 in mappys area to tell me there were big fatties falling from the sky.

Here at home my windows are being hammered by sleet.

Can confirm. Big fat dookie flakes. Sticking to the deck. My poor flowers :(
