hawkeye_wx
Yesterday was great across Iowa. Cedar Rapids hit 69, the highest temp of the year so far. Central Iowa was in the 70s and far western Iowa reached the low 80s. I'd love to get some humidity to go along with the nice temps. Yesterday the dewpoint was in the 20s. Last night's Euro upped this area to the 70s Saturday, with better moisture as well. It's looking increasingly good for the first significant rain event of the year Saturday night & Sunday. Powerball
So it looks like Detroit has a fairly reasonable shot of hitting 70ºF+ for the first time this season. My NWS point grid shows a high of 71ºF.
Geos
Kind of dry here too. Dewpoints near 40° right now. Up to 59° currently. Noticed my tulips are up and out of the ground this morning.
Brewers
850mb temps on Saturday would support low to mid 70's but clouds and a potential SE winds may keep that from happening.
A-L-E-K
spring making a nice push…lots of new green shoots and buds on the trees. It won't be long now.

harrisale
Hurricane winds out there but mostly sunny and we've hit 63F, the warmest temperature at YYZ since October 31st.
hawkeye_wx
I was concerned earlier in the week because the GFS refused to back off of its very progressive weekend system, but it has finally slowed it way down. This will be the best widespread soaker for my area since mid November.

stormtrackertf
Was a beautiful but extremely windy day for the most part. Would have made for a stellar evening too if not for the rain.Crocuses and Reticulated Irises are in full bloom now, with some of the first woodland Anemones starting to bud. Tulips are starting to bud too, and we should have our first daffodil in a few days. Spring is here, finally, indeed.
Geos
Little bit cool out there now, but mid 60s look like a lock again tomorrow. Moonlight illuminating everything outside tonight.
michsnowfreak
Heres a totally random "on this date.." tidbit. On this date in 1942, Detroit was hit with its largest snowstorm of the season at 4.2". This spring snow melted in a day, and a few more snow showers fell on the 11th....and thereafter, not a drop of measurable precip occurred the rest of April! What an odd April that must have been, with not a single April shower the last 2/3 of the month. And on the snow side, this 4.2" fall tied with a Dec 1946 storm to be the 5th largest snowstorm of the pitiful 1940s

DAFF
Just a random thought but does the sun on a given date always have the same horizontal angle from year to year ??
Brewers
Whats up inverted v, looks like a sounding from the desert SW. Should see some decent gusts tomorrow afternoon.
nwburbschaser
I'm actually a little surprised by how good the weather has been so far in April, and I can't remember any such stretch of decent weather last year during the first half of the month. Even though the beginning of next week looks cool, I have no complaints about this stretch of weather.
Geos
The temperature rise this morning has been incredible. 34° at 6:30am and now closing in on 50° at 8:15am.
