This morning DTX was only forecasting low 50's for highs. Made it to 63 at DTW. Also was forecasting rain for tonight and tomorrow, but that looks like a bust as well. Ah, whacky spring weather.

62 and sunny, feels great! Can't wait until they remove the ice boom so Lake Erie can finally get warmer!

That is an awesome shot. Can make out a lot of the main roads in Detroit there, looks like Gratiot Ave, Michigan Ave, and the mile roads in Oakland county especially.

The clear skies today made for some great shots of the lakes. I always forget how close we are to Detriot. You could ice skate from Buffalo to Detriot in mid winter when the entire ice is solid. Wonder how long that would take. :lmao:

BTW that little lake to the south of Buffalo. Just northeast of that lake on top of a hill had 320 inches of snow this year. Crazy.

It has become comical now. Not a drop here. Just like Sunday/Monday when they were pondering flood watches and we didnt see a drop. Monday night came, the snow performed at least as well as expected, if not a bit overperforming (as almost every snow event this winter), and now our very next rain chance - bust. Every single rainfall has busted here this spring.

GFS continues to pump out some impressive rain totals for Sunday/Monday...well over an inch.  Been very consistent all week, so should be interesting to see what happens.  Temps should stay very mild (mid/upper 60fs)...

Continue to watch next weekend for a shot of cold air.

Yesterdays Modis was very telling....from winter in the north to summer in the south ...could really see the green line in southern 1/3 of Illinois and approaching Iowa.   Lake Superior still has a TON of ice on it...

Mississippi River is a foot above flood stage..should crest this weekend.

Very cool seeing the greenery to the south of this image!

Cool today, but not bad with light winds. Currently 50° here.

I'm happy to be back posting after a 7 week hiatus.  Pretty nice today in spite of the cool SE flow off Lake Michigan, with the sun 40s feel pretty nice after this wacky winter.

Where have you been hiding?

Looking forward to 75° and sunny today.
