CoastalWx
Dual pol is really cool. You can see how the heavier echoes are snow and a mix everywhere else.

HIPPYVALLEY
Good call by BIX out here. Nada snow, a little sleet at the end. Looks like we're done here. 30.5/29 2.68" in the bucket I just checked in to all these snow and sleet reports and all I've seen since 6am was a few raindrops and pellets and now skies are brightening. Story of our winter is misses to the S and E. lol

CoastalWx
It must be cold enough in the low levels to generate OES over PYm county. Both PYM and TAN reporting light snow. Sometimes fine rain can be mistaken for light snow...but I suppose it could be true if the NAM soundings are correct.

ASOS usually won't report RA/SN or white rain as snow. I've noticed it often biases it toward rain....on the flip side, it often reports pixie dust sleet as snow. HIPPYVALLEY
So much for the models that yesterday were calling for the heavy snow band to be a W of I-91 to Albany deal.
sankaty
Down two degrees to 33F over the past half hour. Even the roads are snow covered now. About a half inch on the ground. ORH_wxman
SE MA might be forming snow below the marginal warm layer....the 900mb tmeps are like -6C, lol. With the onshore flow and plenty of salt nuclei, that would be enough for snow.
