IsentropicLift
The NAM now has a burst of heavy snow tonight NW of the city. Temps are below freezing west of I-95 by 03z with >0.50" QPF still to fall. Doesn't clear us out till after midnight.
donsutherland1
Freeze Warning now in NYC proper. I think there's a realistic shot that Central Park will hit freezing or perhaps go just below it. That would be the first April freeze in NYC since April 9, 2007 when the temperature fell to 32°. Even more impressive, it would be the first 32° reading after April 15 since April 17, 1982 when the temperature fell to 32°.

IsentropicLift
weatherbell snowmaps are BS My StormVista snow maps show a few inches as well for the Euro. (NW of NYC) The 18z 4k NAM paints an advisory level snowfall in the higher terrain just NW of I-287 tonight. I think the Euro has not been handling things well today at all. It appears to be way too progressive.

IsentropicLift
pompton plains is ~25 miles NW of manhattan. that's not "far NW." I was going for 30 miles or so. I live in the Valley, far NW begins in Riverdale at the intersection of 287 and Rt 23 about 2 miles to my north. IMO.

Weathergun
Nam has 2-4 for nyc The 18z NAM Bufkit shows this too. But I don't believe it. There are warm layers aloft that could cause some sleet to mix in.
SnowGoose69
The RGEM shows a mixture of either RAPL or RASN from 03-06Z then maybe some light snow 06-08Z or so.
famartin
SREF mean is skewed, median is a better gauge right now. Mean has an inch but the median is less because a few members are amped.
eduggs
Downtown Albany went from 66F at 1pm to 37F currently. The hills west of town are already at freezing. The metro should see a similar drop between now and about 9pm.
Isotherm
I don't think any of us will see accumulations, but we will all see snow/sleet falling for at least a couple hours, probably between 10pm and 1am or so.
