Weathergun
I think NYC's best shot at 70 degrees is either today or tomorrow (and that's not a lock). 00z ECMWF indicates a fairly strong southerly wind both Sunday and Monday for NYC eastward and coastal NJ. Even with warm 850's, I can't see > 70F for those locations. 00z ECMWF 10m winds valid 18z Sunday. Note the SLY winds, almost SSE from NYC/coastal NJ eastward. Even stronger SLY wind on Monday: The winds are more SSW during the morning hours on Monday. Sometimes KNYC also sees a temp spike ahead a strong sea-breeze. Juliancolton
67F/43F here already after some filtered sunshine. I expect to crack 70F for the first time this year before thicker clouds move in a bit later.
ag3
Good shot at 1st 70s for NYC today. NAM now on board as well.
SnoSki14
Wow upper 70s forecast through Monday, seems a bit high honestly. Could be a situation where it's warmer well inland toward PA and western NJ while we stay cooler due to more SSE winds. Nice late freeze forecast by gfs after this. IsentropicLift
The 12z GFS is now 0.75"+ of rain for most of the area. Possible excluding eastern Nassau County and the northern Lower Hudson Valley. Bullseye looks like northern New Jersey.

pazzo83
Does it smell like ass in midtown yet? This morning you could feel that slightest hint of the summer feel. However this is blooming plants season so that smell overwhelms the garbage smell for now.
Isotherm
The HRRR would've been correct with 80 if we had full sun today. Dead vegetation, warm 850's, and late august sun angle is the perfect recipe for torching.

jm1220
If the Nam's correct on temps, it might be 80 in Saratoga Springs Monday afternoon and 55 at JFK. It also has a nice drizzle/stratus zone near the shoreline for Sun/Mon. This could be a nasty, raw stretch coming up for anywhere near a south facing/east facing beach. jm1220
You would think that after living on Long Island for so long you would be used to it and not complain. I'm used to it, doesn't mean I like it. I mean, I would think that after living in N NJ for so long, you would get used to benchmark-tracking storms giving the heaviest snow east of you and not complain. I mean, I would think that after living in N NJ for so long, you would get used to benchmark-tracking storms giving the heaviest snow east of you and not complain. Very few storms actually track over the benchmark. They usually slide west of it which still gives my area a good snowfall or just east of it which screws over everyone here.
