I think NYC's best shot at 70 degrees is either today or tomorrow (and that's not a lock). 00z ECMWF indicates a fairly strong southerly wind both Sunday and Monday for NYC eastward and coastal NJ. Even with warm 850's, I can't see > 70F for those locations.

00z ECMWF 10m winds valid 18z Sunday.

Note the SLY winds, almost SSE from NYC/coastal NJ eastward.

Even stronger SLY wind on Monday:

The winds are more SSW during the morning hours on Monday. Sometimes KNYC also sees a temp spike ahead a strong sea-breeze.

If the Nam's correct on temps, it might be 80 in Saratoga Springs Monday afternoon and 55 at JFK. :(

It also has a nice drizzle/stratus zone near the shoreline for Sun/Mon. This could be a nasty, raw stretch coming up for anywhere near a south facing/east facing beach.

You would think that after living on Long Island for so long you would be used to it and not complain.

I'm used to it, doesn't mean I like it. I mean, I would think that after living in N NJ for so long, you would get used to benchmark-tracking storms giving the heaviest snow east of you and not complain.

Very few storms actually track over the benchmark. They usually slide west of it which still gives my area a good snowfall or just east of it which screws over everyone here.
