Mikehobbyst
Starts Saturday and lasts through Monday morning. Looks like 40-45 mph gusts especially Sunday into Monday with 1-1.5 inches of rain.

IsentropicLift
Euro has 3"+ of rain. The Euro is actually almost 3.5" of rain Woof. I love this time of year. Bring it ON! One 00z ECMWF ensemble member has 6"+.
Morris
Time to change it to snow. I'd take it even at 1:
REDMK6GLI
The heaviest axis of rain guaranteed will be be over NJ where they will get 2"+ and i will be in showers the entire day. That is my call But seriously this setup looks the heaviest rain will setup from NYC N&W.
IsentropicLift
Time to change it to snow. I'd take it even at 1:1 This has no chance of being snow. Well, the Euro has some whacky temperature profiles on Monday morning but 90%+ would fall as rain.

This looks to be pretty widespread, but yeah if one of the lows really wraps up then that would be the likely outcome, which would be a sight for my sore eyes. Unfortunately these things usually end up drier over time, but the models have been consistently showing 1.5"+ for a few days now.

I'll take the Euro temperature profiles which shows the surface freezing line north of the Canadian border on Saturday night as the heavy rain is moving in. IsentropicLift
This is a lovely picture ( not ) The only thing that could make this better was if they heavy rain was centered over us instead of just to the north. Nothing in this world better than heavy rain and 30's.

These rainstorms are going to start bringing out flooding concerns from the snow/ ice melt in the northern NY/NE area

This is my favorite time of the year. Then we get to enjoy sun and 70's in May.

IsentropicLift
Alex: yanksfan what was the highest recorded wind gust in NYC during the march 2010 storm? No idea... My recollection of that storm consists of responding to over a dozen reports of fallen trees into homes and then two days of rescuing people from flooding. jm1220
I'll take March 2010 for $1000 please Alex Uhh, no thanks. The tree damage here was insane from that storm. 75-80 mph wind gusts for hours. However, between that, Irene, and Sandy, we're pretty much out of all of our weakened trees. We have entire streets here that used to be lined with trees that are now completely barren. The 00z GGEM also has another 2"+ rain event for early next weekend. Gorgeous pattern.

SnowGoose69
Every model has at least a widespread inch and the ensembles are juiced. Sunday is probably legit, but the euro's smash party 12-18Z Monday is likely bogus as the low is in the occluding stage or would be at that point. If you look at hour 132 it's becoming vertically stacked but it's not their yet. That doesn't happen on the Euro until it's near the benchmark.
