Overnight modeling looked good on the weds storm next week, Actually, The Euro was a perfect weenie track for us here with the low hugging the coast and tracking over CC into the GOM the the GFS was a scraper right now but that is a good spot for it at the moment.

But this far out in the bullseye is not where i really would like to be, I am still very leary of Miller A's more times then not they don't work out, But maybe we break the streak this time.........

Yeah, I saw the GFS had taken a nice step west, so I'm happy where it is at 100 hours out. Hope the Euro holds its course. CMC was just off the Cape as well, so good things shown by the models. That storm is a lot closer to gametime than I realized. I hadn't paid it any attention, instead I was focusing on this weekend craptacle. :axe:

If you could ever extrapolate the Nam, At the 84th panel, It look to develop the low in the same position as the Euro at about that same time, So thats a good sign as well, We need this to happen, I don't think i could take another near miss without tipping the chair......lol

While we're discussing overnight models, the much-respected DGEX takes the low over BOS to about Kennebunkport at something like 978mb and then scoots it due east.

Went out with the dog this morning and I couldn't believe my eyes. Flakes were falling. I saw about 6. It was great!!

The Euro for next week's storm is ideal but the GFS depiction is more of what I would expect from a Miller A but like dryslot said maybe we can pull this one out. Still plenty of time though so I'm not going to go crazy watching this one .... yet.

I checked the snowboard and as of about 9:00 A.M. there was another inch on there, bringing the event total to 2.4 inches at this location. The recent accumulation rate was definitely faster than we’ve seen so far with this event, and it may be due to the increased flake size vs. just the amount of moisture hitting us. We’ll see what the liquid analysis says when I next check the board. There’s been a lull in the snowfall over the past half hour or so, so we’ll also have to see if it picks up again. Our NWS point forecast has us down for 3 to 6 additional inches through Sunday, with half of that expected tomorrow. It sounds like they are anticipating a northwest upslope flow to develop, so that’s where some of that would come from:

.SHORT TERM /7 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH MONDAY/...

AS OF 415 AM EST SATURDAY...UPPER LOW WILL PASS EAST OF NEW ENGLAND OVERNIGHT AND SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE WITH A FOCUS OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS AS FLOW TURNS TO THE NORTHWEST. REGION WILL REMAIN UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DEPARTING UPPER LOW THROUGH EARLY MONDAY MORNING WITH NORTHWEST FLOW REMAINING. LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS EACH PERIOD EXPECTED...ESPECIALLY THE NORTHWEST FACING SLOPES AND HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

Hmmm, interesting. Snow coming in off the Gulf of Maine into areas of the mid coast from the south east. Got a quick dusting. Also see a band of moderate snow heading northeast in a line from Biddeford to Ossipee points east into GOM.

24.4° F.

Yeah, light snow here. There's also a band in Mass around BOS that may affect us this afternoon. Nothing spectacular but at least there's snow in the air.

Always nice when there is snow in the air! Still coming down, althought snow is small, very fine.

Holding out hope for Wednesday, would love to see more than a dusting.

Hiked Mansfield this afternoon.. the clouds gradually lowered by late in the afternoon there were flurries. Very light snow on the drive back to Waitsfield. It's taking a breather now, still hoping for 3 or 4 here in the valley more up top. The winds were impressive on Mansfield, there were calm winds the whole way up and then the summit dome had something like 30mph gusting 40.

What trail did you use to ascend? Stowe side or Underhill side? Its very common to have calm winds for 80% of the mountain and then it'll be absolutely ripping up in the snowfields. I love riding up the gondola in the calm and looking up at the plumes of snow getting blown over the summit ridge.

Huge dendritic aggregates in this mini band. I'm relatively lucking out. This is like the CT stuff from yesterday except only for 15-20 minutes total. Probably at about 1/2SM now, but it was definitely 1/4SM earlier. Looks like I may push an inch in 20 mins.

Suns out here, Just saw 3 more flakes, Getting on the bus for the weds storm...... :weight_lift:

I'm not totally on it yet for NNE. One foot in and one foot out for me. We kinda need H5 to try to close off further west. There's a good chance we'll get some snow out of it, but my hesitance is on the big totals.

I don't care about the big snows, I just want some snow, As long as it rips dendrites @ 1-2"/hr for 6 hours...........

Brian- Looks like those stray yellow pixels were pretty close to you. :snowman:

Not doing anything interesting here... very light snow.

Yeah they went right over my head.

There's a lag with the precip reaching you versus what radar shows. I had radar pounding me for a couple of frames before the heavy stuff moved in. The Canterbury RWIS is a good gauge for me since it's practically on the Northfield line on I93. Once they went down to 1/2SM I knew the heavy stuff would reach me in about 5-10 mins and sure enough it did. It ended up a little under an inch, but at least it came in 20 mins rather than 20 hours. :snowman:
