terpsnation
Snowing at a good rate in Arlington - got a good cover (maybe 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch on grassy areas). Starting to stick to the roads, which is surprising to me, didn't think we'd see any stickage there.

needbiggerboat
I wonder how inflated a lot of these monster seasonal totals are from the burbs...I trust maybe 25% of them Prob same dynamic or even more so with urban measurements. It actually does snow more in the burbs in this area.

My measurement at Belvoir was on an flat wooden benchtop...but accums are primarily on unpaved surfaces.

Intestesting - looks like that map might be a little late on the immediate DC area - was already snowing and had a decent layer on the ground when I woke up around 8 in Courthouse. Seems like it should be pretty much on point for NW of Baltimore however.

BaltimoreWxGuy
Like it or not, this event probably isn't for Baltimore.... the HRRR and RAP both show all the good totals from DC west. Exactly...that's what Ive been trying to show.
Deck Pic
Like it or not, this event probably isn't for Baltimore.... the HRRR and RAP both show all the good totals from DC west. it will start there later...NAM-Hi Res and RAP both show it...perhaps people in NE MD should learn to pay attention to guidance...then it would be pretty obvious why it isnt snowing there yet

chris21
Just had to drive about forty mins roundtrip in the bethesda/rockville area, some side streets are now (unbelievably) snow covered. Bridges and overpasses are treacherous saw two separate incidents where trucks had run completely off the road into the woods (luckily everyone was fine with police on the scene. Be careful out there!

The Dude
Closing in on an inch here. Sticking to the sidewalk in places. Roads were mostly just wet, but overpasses were snow covered, even on Rockville Pike. With this, I'm now over 50" for the winter!
needbiggerboat
sounds like you are a slant-stick grass measurer...too bad I don't waste my time measuring snowfall...I stay nice and warm while chumps like you run around outside in the cold taking measurements of frozen water. NWS and spotter reports work fine for me.
