It was a good day to telework, for sure.

...and, just measured 3.1" on the deck.  Not too shabby.  Temp is holding steady at 30.4F.

yes indeed.  the temp didn't go over 31 all day long. do you think we could push to 4"!

I think I'm at like 2.75". Still got like 2.5 in the grass. Was about 2.25" when I left at 1p.

I'm going to end up calling this one 3". I had 2.5" survive through the lull and now a fresh cartopper. I did a crappy job measuring after 1pm or so. I'll wait till spotter data is posted on nws and see what the closest reports look like.

I was gone most of the day, but several locations where I measured just a little while ago were around 3".  Taking into account some melting/settling and this last band moving through, I'll go with 3.0" total here in Chevy Chase, MD.

Nice event!  This is the second year in a row now that I've seen snow here on my birthday, too (4" last year)!!

Umm no? Heavy snow here HUGE flakes. Really gorgeous. This is what Spring snow should look like. I should be well over 13" for March after tonight.

During the day it does unless you're getting pounded. Those bands cranking with the low are going to demolish someone at low elevation tho.

I would argue rates are more important in Spring during the daylight, more so than having a few hundred feet of elevation. If its snowing lightly at noon in late March it isn't going to make much difference whether you are in Westminster or Bowie.

If all things were the same perhaps but elevation is almost always colder if it's precipitating and in season fringe events one or two degrees either side of freezing makes a big difference.  Even across DC the change is pretty substantial from lower elevation to higher elevation and not all UHI based.

Good call on my area btw. Sticking to everything but roads and sidewalks now, close to an inch in the grass. Nice little event to close out the season.
