powderfreak
Nice mild weekend enroute to ensure AN at big 4 Temps look near normal...just not the below normal clouds/crap that the GFS has. But still a much nicer weekend, can't get bogged down in the debate of whether the month will be -0.5 or +0.5.

If the GFS is right it could be pretty chilly. Definitely no mild look.

The good old off-season semantics issues....he's now not using mild in a way relative to climo but just mild being anything over like 55 degrees. Although he often references mild and AN in the same sentence, they are mutually exclusive apparently. It can now be below normal and mild, haha. MainePhotog
Looks like a wonderful weekend for movies and a crackling fire in the fireplace, up here. From GYX afternoon AFD AFTER BRIEF RIDGING ALOFT ON FRIDAY... ANOTHER TROUGH MOVES OUT OFTHE GREAT LAKES FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY. LIFT AHEADOF THE TROUGH WILL PROVIDE A CHANCE OF SHOWERS BEGINNING FRIDAYNIGHT AND LASTING THROUGH SUNDAY AS THE TROUGH SLOWLY MOVES BY.DEPENDING ON THE EVOLUTION OF SURFACE FEATURES AND THEAVAILABILITY OF COLD AIR... CONDITIONS COULD BE COLD ENOUGH FORSOME SNOW PRIMARILY IN HIGHER ELEVATION AREAS.
tamarack
Right,, 60's is a nice mild regime. Suddenly folks sounding like 60's are chilly or cool lol Have not seen anyone state "chilly" or "cool" for temps in the 60s, only that near seasonable temps don't do much to ensure AN for the big 4. 60s don't become "chilly" until June. powderfreak
Right,, 60's is a nice mild regime. Suddenly folks sounding like 60's are chilly or cool lol Most folks look at temperatures as relative to climo norms...ie 60s would be seasonable. As averages rise, so do what folks think of when they hear a given term (mild, cool, etc).

The euro looks similar based on 2m temps.
CoastalWx
Carverywx, Saturday does look like the chance for showers, but the EC op and ensemble are better than the GFS. Even the GFS ensemble wasn't as bad as the op...although still rather crappy. I'd plan on the chance for some showers, but also temps maybe near 55-60. First guess. Hopefully any shwrs are more with the fropa and instability driven. If that's the case, you may be on the drier side.
