Ginx snewx
That's a function of yesterday warm rains..i noticed it yesterday before the snow. Add a little sun today and we'll be mowing in 10-14 days Our front lawn here needs mowing now, probably 6-8 inches tall, amazing difference from this morning

Ginx snewx
My yard is still waking up...but it's starting to grow. yea mine at home is probably similar to yours, here its a manicured landscaped situation. I am going to have to disagree with you and Jerrys posts this morning. I am thinking we finish April slightly below normal, averages are like 50+ degrees here on out and climb every day, seems to me that below normal days and some well below normal days rule the roost. powderfreak
High of 30F at home...snow burnt off the sunny areas but still got the grass covered on the north facing lawn. Looks very spring-like actually.

Typhoon Tip
Heh. With the PNA slated to lose some 1.5 SD and slip negative over the next week, the NAO raging with a positive boner right out to the end of two weeks, and now the EPO also getting erect ... there really aren't any cold signals remaining. 'Course, that's the GFS ensembly derived fields... But even the Euro MJO just propagated a moderate wave through phases 4 and 5. You could almost expect a warm regime to take over the runs at any point, where perhaps persistence is resistant to change.
Typhoon Tip
Little point of bemusement ...for those put off by the nip in the air today through Friday, so far all the major climo sites for SNE are 3.spare change to 4+ above normal for April -- that's through the 15th of the month. Kind of opposite March so far.

CapturedNature
While everything was dead 10 days ago..we've caught up to normal I think as magnolias and forsythias are coming out. Pretty amazing what a warm April will do. It's pretty amazing how well nature can recover. FWIW, My 12 year average for them to be in bloom is 4/16 so we are a little behind. I'm about a week behind the valley and they are budding there. They will probably be in bloom by next week I guess. Looks like the max here was 41°. Since 1985, that is a record low max for me, beating the old record of 48 in 1987. Tomorrow's record low is 22° in 1995 which should be feasible since it's 30° now. powderfreak
20F out already and it feels like it...quite a bite to the air. Personally, I enjoyed the warmth of a few days ago, leaving the glass sliding doors open in the evening with just the screen doors in place, and feeling the mild fresh air circulate through home. However, need to also remember there will be a lot of that in the coming months and to cherish the crisp temps that may not be felt again until October. TauntonBlizzard2013
Grass visibly greener today. Cool too see. Some trees look ready to burst, but color coming around everywhere now. If we could string together 5-7 days of upper 60s to around 70 I think everything would explode
weathafella
Looks like even in the next 5 days we sneak in an above normal or 2. BOS +4.5 through 4/15. Yesterday was -10....you'd have thought it was -30 from all the talk... Today will be -8-10 and then moderation but for how long? I'm pretty sure we finish AOA for the month. Pretty cold air mass though, Mt Washington tied the record low of -2 yesterday. " "Overall expect temperatures to remain in the low to middle 20s...which is almost 20 degrees below normal. Several sites are close to hitting their record low as of 400 am. Will need to monitor to see if they dip a few more degrees to break their record. Well with NW winds this time of year, low 40s and full sun on the CP is pretty tough to do. It's a pretty chilly airmass and today is goin to be no better on tue coast. Bronze away out there in Israel.

tamarack
Yesterday was a cheap midnight high. Had a cheap 9:01 PM high of 44, afternoon high of 32 - latest I've recorded an afternoon max of 32 or below. Even my meager 0.6" snowfall had some surviving patches this morning, mainly atop the 9" of old snowpack.
MainePhotog
Sure glad we're not near the water the next 5 days. Feel for the coastal folks while inland is nice and mild Don't feel sorry for me. I'm one of the few who enjoy the cool ocean influenced air this time of the year. I would love for it to stay this way all through summer. Keeps the bugs at bay, and pushes off those horrid high dews until a later time. If and when I want some milder air, I can just drive inland and enjoy to my hearts desire. Back door fronts forever!
