I have a hard time with overrated after watching it snow hard from 2am to 5am. 3rd biggest storm in my 10 years here.

How about worst performance of a heated tipping bucket - DCA with 20:1 ratios during 1/21

yeah...was much better for you.....still a great storm here, but had the horrible finish here, the annoying flip on the early side...the heavy snow was great but I had +SN in a number of events this winter...Snow was heavier the other night...A great storm, but easily the most overrated of the winter here....met expectations here, but didnt exceed them...3/16-17 blew it away.....I stay up all night or 90% of the night for every storm, so not really a factor for me

I thought about doing an award for most ridiculous ratios...lol...2/25 or 1/21....

Most Empty Hype: 3/25-26

Honorable Mention: 2/3/14.

For those who don't remember (not hard to forget a driving rainstorm that ended with a trace of snow despite being under WWA and spending way too much time tracking it ): http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php/topic/42670-monday-mauler-or-monday-bawler-part-ii/page-31

Killer recap. Only thing I could add is most influential feature: PV

I kinda have to give props to DT on that one.. cause he was  barking about this feature as far back as late December... he did a really good write up on the how the PV will dominate out pattern and help support several chances for snow throughout the winter...that certainly happened.

LOL. True. That event completely sucked IMBY. a bit over 4 inches of snow, then sleet and rain, and the part II disintegrated as it moved east. I might have gotten a quarter inch on top. Worst event of the winter here, I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS.

Spring :(

Thanks man. You had some pretty good LR windows too. I needed this March to happen for the sake of me calling for a snowy March in the past! lol I still get a bad taste in my mouth when I think back to the 2004-05 season. It was a weak El Nino-west that destroyed SE New England but kept screwing your area! I thought we would cash in then.

  • 3 weeks later...

Feb 12-13 here will fall in a vast pool of forgotten 10-12 inch events, while Roanoke had 19, and nearby mts had 2 feet due to the extra 6-10 ULL snows. We had way too much sleet and zr (yeah, beats rain but still)

2 years in a row, my favorite event is March 25.. don't think that ever happens again. :)
