I can't exactly complain too much being almost 20" above climo here, but hindsight does look back at the missess, and wonder how much snow I could have received in my area.  Maybe 100+"?  It didn't happen to turn out that way so all I can do now is catch up on the model talk for next week every so often, while knowing that discussions of high dews and heat are closer than I realize.

We've seen this how many times the last 5 weeks? Fool me once shame on me.. Fool me twice, roll of the dice,, fool me thrice .. My weenies on ice

You are foolish to write anything off 7 days out...I don't care if it is right or wrong. We all know what may happen, but good luck in the field if you write things off 7 days out because of bad luck prior.

When the atmosphere wants it to not snow..it will find every way for that to happen. In this instance persistence is the way to go until proven otherwise

Yes, the atmosphere has a personality.

Well, I had me a date with a woman

On the other side of this town

But there came a rainstorm and it rained so hard

And it washed the bridge right down.

Bad luck and bad weather

Seems to follow me

Bad luck and bad weather

Is all I ever see.

Then I got me a job in the city

Gonna make me a lot of pay

But there came a snowstorm the night before

And don't you know I got fired on my very first day.

Bad luck and bad weather

Seems to follow me

Bad luck and bad weather

Is all I ever see.

I was buildin' me a house in Nashville

I finished it on Saturday

Come Sunday morning a big tornado

Just blew my new house away.

Bad luck and bad weather

Seem to follow me

Bad luck and bad weather

Is all I ever see.

Then I went down away to the desert

I dug a well more a hundred foot deep

Built up the windmill but the wind wouldn't blow enough

The water washed my dirty feet.

Bad luck and bad weather

Seem to follow me

Bad luck and bad weather

Is all I ever see.

WPC for next week

MODELS AND ENSEMBLES HAVE CONVERGED UPON A MORE COMPATABLE/WELL CLUSTERED SOLUTION COMPARED TO YESTERDAYS GUIDANCE. THIS BOLSTERS CONFIDENCE IN EVOLUTION OF THE UPCOMING MEDIUM RANGE PATTERN AS AN ERN NOAM MEAN TROUGH AMPLIFIES WELL DOWNSTREAM FROM AN ERN PAC/ALASKA REX BLOCK...WITH RIDGING BUILDING AND WORKING INTO THE WRN US IN BETWEEN.

IN THIS PATTERN THERE MEANWHILE REMAINS SIGNIFICANT POTENTIAL FOR UNUSUALLY FAR SOUTHWARD EXTENT OF WINTRY PRECIPITATION FOR LATE MARCH. THE BEST CONSENSUS FOR WRN ATLANTIC COASTAL STORM INTENSIFICATION TUE-WED GIVES THE MID-ATLANTIC AND NORTHEAST THE HIGHEST THREAT OF MEANINGFUL LATE SEASON SNOW/WIND.

I did note the 00z  euro ensembles had a better look with the s.w moving SE across the OV. Also, you had a retreating high look which normally would argue for something a bit closer. Granted the high pressure moving offshore is more a function of the mid level pattern so that could change, but just noting.

 this is like what we were saying for the 5 weeks of late Dec through January and early February.

It's funny how we were saying these same things now it's moved into SNE. But can always respond with, "Aren't you above normal on the season?" ;)

Well you guys weren't that far from normal, meanwhile some areas of SNE have not even had an inch since Feb 18.
