moneypitmike
At any rate, once you hit the difference of 60-65mb You are talking hurricane conditions Welcome to the board, Nick--and congratulations on the newest person on the board to be posting for seemingly 24 hours straight. You and Scooter will have a lot of time together. Well that was a nice 00z, but let's not get faked out. This needs to at least hold or tick west though tonight and tomorrow morning. I'm trying to come up with a jpeg for you this morning. If I get a few snow showers like the EC's showing, I'll consider it a win. Nice storm to see on paper--much more exciting to have it hit us hard.
Damage In Tolland
Wow..nice trends last night. Other thing to think about with this beast are strong damaging winds for everyone out of the NW. Hopefully enough to bring some trees down

CoastalWx
To me, it wasn't really just the AK S/W. There were higher heights over the SE and also more interaction with another extension of the Hudson Bay vortex. This is all the song and dance models have to deal with when trying to figure out this complicated dance.
Brian5671
6z gfs reigns in developing enthusiasm to some degree 1. it's the GFS 2. it's an off hour run. - Today's 12z runs will be huge as far as seeing if the trend continues

codfishsnowman
what is starting to impress me is the circulation and precip field, even if most of it winds up offshore this thing looks scary!

Edge Weather
That gradient will not verify. No way. That blows 1978 out of the water Just like Sandy wouldn't happen? I hope you were kidding. We are seeing things the past few years we have never seen before. What was once thought impossible is now starting to happen.
weathafella
Incidentally the navgem continues an outright several feet shellacking for the Boston metro on their 6Z run.

Weather.St
Incidentally the navgem continues an outright several feet shellacking for the Boston metro on their 6Z run. Not bad for a progressively biased model. Even more amazing for a model that normally doesnt overdo qpf

HoarfrostHubb
It is good to see a constant drumbeat on pretty much all models on numerous runs of a pretty wound up system
cja1987
Hey queens....euro ensembles looked good. About 60% of individual members are pretty decent for eastern ares QPF wise. Plenty of spread but, at quick glance, more members throw good precip all the way back to ALB than completely whiff OTS.
