Absolute Humidity
I hate to boost your ego, but the more I look at the landscape, the more I agree with you about this year being pretty close to normal at this point, maybe 3-4 days behind schedule. Trees are mostly leafed-out, with full leaf out probably complete by May 15th after this heat spell. Agreed, even my Black Walnuts, typically late bloomers are leafing. For them, this actually seems a little early.

RedSky
Keep in mind April was normal temps so May plants are pretty close to schedule but last months folliage showed the significant setback
iceman56
Here In NW Chesco, small leaves on oaks. Ash and black walnut have swelled buds, but still look winterlike. Poplars are really the only tree with leaves large enough to blow in the wind. My hydrangea got wiped from the April freezes - will have to rely on growth from underground, so no flowers this year. iceman56
Spring relapsed in a number of areas since the hail stripped the leaves off the trees. Looks like early April again.
KamuSnow
Spring relapsed in a number of areas since the hail stripped the leaves off the trees. Looks like early April again. So do you think new tree/branch/leaf growth will compensate somewhat for it, or are you stuck with that look till the fall?
famartin
So do you think new tree/branch/leaf growth will compensate somewhat for it, or are you stuck with that look till the fall? Most plants should leaf out again; if they don't, chances are they were weak and vulnerable and the vegetative stripping sapped their remaining strength. iceman56
So do you think new tree/branch/leaf growth will compensate somewhat for it, or are you stuck with that look till the fall? Mature trees will likely recover and pretty soon. I could see flowers that were basically pulverized recovering but not blooming this year. i.e. hostas

Mitchell Gaines
84 degrees w/DP's in the low 60's are hot & humid? Getting really close, I'm not a fan of hot weather and would prefer a drier version of today over a hot day.

BucksCO_PA
Were you inside in the AC? whether I'm inside or outside is irrelevant, question is do you consider 84 degrees with a DP of 61 hot & humid?
DarthDoppler
whether I'm inside or outside is irrelevant, question is do you consider 84 degrees with a DP of 61 hot & humid? I consider that "a little sticky". (or to put it another way, just warm/humid enough to be annoying )
