StudentOfClimatology
I recall zwyts telling Phin about some short term models (HRRR I think?) showing the snow spreading a bit north after midnight and bringing a few good hours. I'm really impressed by how spot on they've been this year. Maybe a chance for you. I'm at 5.7", so there's almost no chance I'm getting more than 10".. 87storms
the best part of this event is that it was snow from the start. on that note, i need some zzzz's. nice last hurrah for the winter (if it's the last).
Joshfsu123
Just measure 3.75 inches at 1am --- before this next heavy snow band hits... lets see if we can make it to 5 inches by 2:30am.
Ian
4.75" conservatively. Kudos to LWX and WPC.. I questioned their bullishness a lot but they're going to end up doing among the best on this one.
Ji
guys the Euro had 2 inches for us after Saturdays 12z run...it was terrible for this event. GGEM was most consistent of the Globals and NAM was best for short term

I'm really impressed by how spot on they've been this year. I remember seeing that. Matt knows his stuff that's for sure. I'm excited for the entire DC crew and Bob Chill. Great analysis all winter from them. Getting the goods tonight. We're just getting into ours now. We can pick up 3 inches next 3-5 hours imo to take totals around 3-5" for us. I'll take that any day in March
WEATHER53
1am Obs: 6.25", 27* Flakes size just picking up again. Have maintained a moderate to heavy rate for hours but only come and go increase to big flakes.

Ian
GFS did fairly well on the BL temps as well. As I recall it had DCA near freezing at 8 pm. GFS locked in nicely the last 2 days or so GGEM was too heavy consistently till the last day or two. Euro didn't have its best day for sure. Random Chaos
Based on the drifts I am getting, both of the last two storms produced less snow. ~9-12" drifts next to bare ground. Not as much as we got three storms ago yet when I had 23" drifts, but it's still got a few hours left.
hosj III
Another thing here is ratios performed. Snow is surprisingly airy. I'm guessing we have 15:1 when everyone was saying 8:1 or 10:1.

I'll take that any day in March I'll gladly take that... the number of 3"+ events we've had this winter is off the charts. And it's nice to see the crazy gradient from earlier this season being evened out a bit with a few DC specials, so this becomes a very memorable winter for the whole region. I'm rooting for DCA to hit 30" for the season.
