Scarlet Pimpernel
more will develop behind that..we're good until at least 4-5 am...I'll clear 6" easy Looks like almost convective elements down toward central/southern VA.
09-10 analogy
8" or bust. That's make this my second biggest storm this winter (I was in NYC for Jan 2-3, where they got 7.5" or so.) Probably won't happen but this has been a turbocharged winter since mid-January, so why not?
ers-wxman1
Turns out a tree was giving my measuring spot this evening the middle finger, walked about 1/4 down the road to a park with a wide open NE fetch. I got 4.25" in multiple places! 1.25" on the roads. tl;dr.. 4.25" and awesomeness! That's dedication!
Bob Chill
Measured all my favorite spots. Almost a uniform 5.5". And still dumping. Holy crap. Def 10+:1 ratios
PivotPoint
Incoming heavy band south of DC! The band to the SE of Tysons looks just like where the previous band to hit Tysons originally setup an hour ago (that band is now hitting extreme NOVA and Great Falls, MD). I can hope! Scarlet Pimpernel
I just checked OPM website, and it says on-time for 17 March. Does that mean they made the decision, or does it just default to that once the clock strikes midnight? Not sure. But to be honest, I would not be surprised with either a 2-hour delay or optional telework/unscheduled leave policy. I don't expect a closure, but you never know. Fozz
Finally snowing for real and hoping that Baltimore band makes its way here. I'm guessing half an inch but haven't measured.

EastCoast NPZ
12:30 obs: 7.4" 1.4" in the past hour. I continue to be amazed tonight. Super heavy snow moved on, but still snowing nicely. This must really be some good ratio snow to be piling up this quickly. This has already easily surpassed every storm of the year except for 2/13. Just blew away any expectations I had for tonight. I think at least we end up colder than normal for March, even with some of these very warm days.
dailylurker
4.5 and snowing beautify (moderate). This storm is becoming one of my favorite storms of the season. I'm thinking 6-8" is a solid call. Someone in the metro will probably slant stick 10".

EHoffman
Looks like it becomes hit or miss after this last heavy band getting ready to come through per radar I don't know, looks like something might be cooking around CHO.

WEATHER53
I stayed up for big one until 5a and saw a lot of very heavy snow from 1am on but don't think it was quite as heavy as what I just got in 15 & 30 minutes. It was foggier in prior event but there were a lot of nickle+ sized flakes in what recently went thru.
jacindc
Eyes starting to get heavy, but that next band is so close, and so juicy....
PWC Split
Just finished my first shovel and there was a uniform 5.5 inches. Snow rates just picked back up in last 5 minutes. 8 inches not an unreasonable expectation here in Haymarket.

NJDC Wx
more will develop behind that..we're good until at least 4-5 am...I'll clear 6" easy We always finish well too. 7-8 is doable for the favored areas of the city.
weatherCCB
That last band was the real sh.t . Just measured 3 spots. 6.4, 6.6, 6.8. I'm calling it 6.5" Still snow steady. I'm thinking 8" is very realistic. Will put me at 50" for the season.
Swiscaster
Not sure. But to be honest, I would not be surprised with either a 2-hour delay or optional telework/unscheduled leave policy. I don't expect a closure, but you never know. I am starting to doubt a closure now due to there being much less snow on the streets than other surfaces, and maybe the earlier ending time. Seems most could be over before the commute?
