Jebman
Jeb, NAM gives you around .63" qpf from 8PM-2AM! no kidding! Yep, I'm getting NAM'MED. 3 inches on the grass now, about three quarters of an inch on the roads/sidewalks. Some portions of the sidewalks are putting up resistance. I just cant believe this storm. I can't believe this winter. I can't believe my season totals either. There's no effin way this is Dale City.
Deck Pic
Here is what I just posted on facebook- Hey. As if you couldn't already tell, I am going bust low on snow for DC. I didn't expect us to accumulate so well so early. Given that most of DC is approaching or has exceeded 2", and we are 28-29 degrees, I think we should wake up to 4-6"+. Short range modeling is now suggesting snow tapers by 7-8am. We may get some snow to redevelop during the day, but looks like the main event is happening now. The big wildcard is roads. I think side streets in particular will get snow covered, but even with temps below freezing and overcast skies, strong March sun should do do some damage during the day tomorrow to whatever sticks to streets and sidewalks. jacindc
Death band is great here on the Hill. Starting to have stickage on our always cold cobblestone street, but not the brick walks yet.

mitchnick
when you see that popcorn signature to the radar like you see on the Blacksburg radar, you're looking at some decent instability/convection....very nice http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=FCX-N0Q-1-
nj2va
Death band is serious business...big fluffy flakes coming down again.
welbane
I should be right in the middle of that yellow band right now, and my light steady snow got even lighter. It's barely 1" here in GU main campus with nothing sticking on the roads. Dunno if it's the river or we have an underground heating system. stormtracker
Yeah, actually they went quicker than the sidewalks. Neighbor just moved his car into the driveway, hence the dark spot. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1395023879.484976.jpg NICE!

NorthArlington101
The deathband isn't bringing much death... Seemed to evaporate. Obviously it brought better rates but no fluffy flakes. Just went over 2", 4-6 seems to be a good call

Swiscaster
I'm in the deathband. Kind of like a downpour of rain, except it is snow. 3" on the deck within arm's reach of my deck door.
87storms
streets are just having a hard time so far. the consistent rates just haven't been there. ground temps have been an issue. still a good late season event though.
North Balti Zen
1.5 in Dundalk? Really uvv? Guess I am just in bad luck five miles away. It's pretty, but the rates are not near enough to accumulate on sidewalks or streets right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
StudentOfClimatology
Does anyone else think this could be immediate D.C.'s best storm of the season? 2/13 clearly takes the cake, IMO. I got 14-15" in like 10hrs.
MN Transplant
streets better get going soon.. need gov shutdown Shutdown is doubtful. 2-hr delay is likely, especially with the roads out here in the hinterlands.

BlizzardNole
About 2.5" and 31.6*; light/mod snow. Surprised at that ob of just 0.75 in Damascus -- that is just a few miles north! I've seen the opposite many times before though.
