Huffwx
We've had light to moderate snow since 5 PM and about .3 to show for it. Temp has 35. About .18 for .3, close to a 1 to 1.5 ratio. Worse than sleet
evaporativecooler
snow just went from light to moderate-heavy. Flakes are getting a lot larger. Sleeping tonight would be CRIMINAL

The Ole Bucket
Elevated surfaces and grass have probably a half inch after 2+ hours of mod snow. Pavement is wet. But the sun is gone and temps are below freezing so the show is just starting...

WinterWxLuvr
I think people just selectively read. Raw temps were still too cold from range but I think a middle ground was prob better than one or the other. Like other guidance they tend to close in the short range. MOS often misses on anomalous setups. I'm mostly just goofing off, but it does highlight the great part of weather, it's unpredictability.
H2O
Plus remember GFS was showing upper 30s for highs today in raw form. How'd that work out? Not that it matters but still. Temps dropped faster today than 3/3 for me. I lost 10 degrees since the snow started

Ian
Temps dropped faster today than 3/3 for me. I lost 10 degrees since the snow started this event has a better match on timing if nothing else. that airmass was prob a bit more impressive but it was just moving into the area in the hours around midnight well after precip started. kurtstack
It's definitely colder than I expected and I undercut mos a bit. On rare occasions an anomalous air mass can trump climo, even in DC.

Jebman
My understanding was that Dale City would hit the freezing point by 10 pm. So why am I 31 with mod snow at only 8pm?
