00z ECM holds and actually got wetter up here. Decent area of 1.8-2" in VT over to NNH/BML/ME MTNS. 1.75-2" includes myself, JSpin, mreeves, cardinal, the Lyndon guys, Allenson, hitman, etc. That's fairly impressive for the Op ECM so close in.

There's going to be some good banding. Nice stuff out west by ORD to DTW. QPF seems to be there with ORD/Chicago area with 0.5"+ melted precip in 6-hours as snow. ORD picked up 0.2"/hr fall rates as snow, so the atmosphere seems to have some juice in the cold sector too.

impressive numbers

Yeah any ZR obviously would be narrow and localized, I just thought it was an interesting aspect.

Those elevations around 1000-2000 feet should get blasted too. There just won't be enough time to refreeze before hitting the mountains. A place like Sunapee could glaze over pretty badly.

What do you project your lift situation to be tomorrow?

Reminds me of the day after 3/8/05 flash freeze storm. I think we had a high of like 17 with absolutely brutal winds. Can't imagine how nasty it felt up in the mountains that day.

Thursday will be similar.

3/18/67, day after a 6" clipper - NYC max was 20 (latest they've ever had that cold a high) and we only reached low teens in NNJ, with wind.

GYX snow tool amounts, 7:30 AM version:

PWM....4.1"

LEW....8.4"

AUG...10.1"

RUM...17.5"

Rangeley..21.9"

Map has loads of 18-24" in foothills/mys, with one teeny spot of 24-30" at the "Loaf.

And confidence is proportional to snow totals. The more snow in the forecast the better I feel about it, the less snow in the forecast the more likely we bust.

I don't know why we bother blending in anything with the Euro anymore.

A nightmare commute tomorrow morning. Flash over with little or no lead time to treat roads. Worst scenario, better all snow. I'm happy for the NNE crew but the impact is greater in more populous areas of SNE.

OT: Finally can see the blades of brown matted grass!

Yeah. It will be interesting to see how this affects the commute/schools etc

Impossible to pin down
