mreaves
Figured a NNE guy should kick off this thread. Been out all evening and haven't looked at anything so hopefully all is still on track. Currently partly cloudy and 28F

Send it your way in the form of white gold! What? I thought this was going to cross over the BM and give all of us SNE folks a classic winter storm. N. OF PIKE
Good god the 00z NAM is a nice wallop. Man it is so close to a bigger deal for more of the southern cne area, now cast for some folks
CoastalWx
Yeah any ZR obviously would be narrow and localized, I just thought it was an interesting aspect.
CT Rain
Yeah any ZR obviously would be narrow and localized, I just thought it was an interesting aspect. Yeah interesting, I agree. We'll see how it develops... looks like through 00z most of the precip is north of the MA/VT border anyway.
cdgraves
Lol awesome title, take no prisoners. Best of luck on the storm of the season. Congrats NNE For all 40 people living in the 12+ swath! But I shouldn't be negative - PWM got nearly a foot from a practically un-forecasted storm back in Dec/Jan. Winter storm Nemo was also the first major Nor'easter I experienced living in NE, so may bar is set pretty high.
TalcottWx
12km NAM is almost 2-5" north of the pike at the end on wxbell.
moneypitmike
Wacky NAM run....seems stingy on the qpf for SNE, but a bit cooler. NNE on the other hand.....

ORH_wxman
and the 100K skiers March skiing rules in NNE....this is another reason why. Very snowy month.
ORH_wxman
Look slike RGEM went a shade warmer after going colder for a couple runs in a row. QPF that falls as snow:
CoastalWx
Holy cow what a gradient.
ORH_wxman
Holy cow what a gradient. Once the mid-level front sets up, its like it just sits there for 6-8 hours with the heaviest qpf falling.
CoastalWx
Once the mid-level front sets up, its like it just sits there for 6-8 hours with the heaviest qpf falling. Yeah that's the one feature of this storm...this isn't a CCB sort of deal until later...it's just a ribbon of frontogenesis or overrunning for awhile until the thing starts cranking near the Cape. Too disjointed for a classic CCB, although the inflow at 850mb will get going later tomorrow night.
CoastalWx
I don't see much change on the GFS through 00z tomorrow night.
CoastalWx
GFS goes over MVY it seems.
ORH_wxman
GFS would probably give more sleet and ZR problems to northern SNE...thats a pretty far south track of the sfc low.
dendrite
GFS keeps the mid levels near or below 0C here.
CoastalWx
GFS would probably give more sleet and ZR problems to northern SNE...thats a pretty far south track of the sfc low. It's a decent IP look even at BOS before 06z.
CT Rain
GFS would probably give more sleet and ZR problems to northern SNE...thats a pretty far south track of the sfc low. GFS has consistently been much farther south with QPF shield. Very different from Euro/NAM.
ORH_wxman
GFS has consistently been much farther south with QPF shield. Very different from Euro/NAM. One reason I was surprised to see it go even further south this run.
powderfreak
Holy cow what a gradient. Yeah, that's nuts. This should be interesting to look at in hindsight...plot the snowfall to see if and where the gradient set. Immediately north of the sleet line is going to get crushed. ORH_wxman
Lock the GFS It would help out a lot of people...but unfortunately I have very little faith in it. My guess is to stick with the Euro/RGEM type solution right now.
