I made a custom white balance in camera by shooting a piece of white foam-core through the welders glass. It looks like it still could use some minor tweaking but I am lazy. It is a poor mans substitute for a fancy 10 stop Neutral Density filter. It allows you to take 20 or 30 second plus exposures even during the midday sun.
