KamuSnow
31F here now. Finally made it back to below freezing after several days above, and still have a few patches of snow around!
Sophisticated Skeptic
There could be a few 50+ gusts. The strongest winds should be observed between now and about 3-4 a.m. I've never heard such nonstop roars just above the tree tops since i've been here. (2100 feet) It seriously sounds like 60 to 70mph sustained. 14 degrees.
MattMal88
Its really cranking out there now! My truck was getting pushed around by the winds. The temperature drop has been crazy it was 69 degrees when I was heading home at 4 pm and now its 36. This is all according to the thermometer in my truck so who knows how accurate those numbers were but thats still a 30+ degree drop in 7 hours and most of that dropping probably o ccured over the last 3-4 hours. Impressive!

Same here...was doing wash/cooking (electric)...no juice put that at a halt. Pretty much sucked w/no sleep and no heat. Back on but flickering at times. noctilucent
My trash can was literally pushed across my driveway last night. It remained upright, but it was pushed along on its 2 rear wheels and actually "steered" in a NW'rly direction (normally faces NNE). I don't remember that happening before, whether it was empty or not. That took some doing, especially given we are in a "tree-encased" area. I'd say that took 50 mph winds, fairly sustained too.... Sophisticated Skeptic
Did you do a jebwalk last night? too cold with -20+ wind chills. gusts around 50 at 6 degrees . gotta give it to the power companies out here ( PPL) , and who they hire to cut the branches down . You literally see their trucks out here months before the winter starts, working on things.

Sorry to hear that, at least it wasn't the house! I still have a few larger branches up in trees that were broken during the ice storm, and was hoping some would get shaken loose last night, but for the most part they're still up there.
