Ajdos
think about what the models showed 72+ hours ago....nada. True, i'm just talking about the nam model and the 24-27" amnts whatever lol.. However, based on radar etc I don't think Detroit breaks the record today? How much snow did you get thus far? I know it's very windy and lots of drifting out...which sucks

Chargers09
Dtx says dtw will be on the high end of the 8-10 inch amounts. Looks like we get another 2-3 hr's of heavy rates.

Some really good rates working into to that area right now. Should turn into pound town shortly. Hopefully it brings additional 2-4" while it's there. hawkeye_wx
This system was pretty much a bust west of the Chicago area. It just didn't get cranking soon enough and the surface temp was too high where precip fell. I did not see a flake and even far southeast Iowa only got an inch or so. Whitelakeroy
This is why I hate all the runs. Talking those 12-24" runs. Several people who just days ago would have been happy to just get 2-4" are going to be pissed to ONLY get 4-8". model runs turn decent storms into 'if only' storms (in peoples heads that is). Whitelakeroy
We all learned a valuable lesson the other night. I hope we did Glad I learn it a few years ago with that 07-08 winter (Josh and Harry can tell you how I got ~100" winter yet was pissed at most storms) ... I know never to fall in love with ANY run. Every storm will have a run.

BuffaloWeather
Unfolding slower than expected? About right on track, warmer air definitely went farther north than expected with this system. Had 15-20 minutes of sleet a little while ago about 5-6 miles northeast of Buffalo.. Snowfall rates 1+ inch per hour right now.

Hoosier
FWA almost met blizzard criteria. Most of the hourly obs/SPECI obs between 7-9 AM had gusts AOA 35 mph and visibility of 1/4 mile. If only it would've lasted longer.
